Swedish Music of 2011 – Highlights
Robyn – Call Your Girlfriend
By now the entire world knows who Robyn is. About damn time if you ask me. She is among THE best Swedish musical artists we have. Her last albums have been nothing but pure pop love and she is just… you won’t get a coherent sentence about how much I love this woman and her music. By far, this is the song of the year!
Those Dancing Days – Can’t Find Entrance
When I think about these girls, I feel very proud. They started out young, have managed to create a steady career. Despite their very young age, they are amazing when it comes to music production. When I listen to Those Dancing Days, I am sure that Swedish music is always going to be alright. And it doesn’t hurt that they are adorable and fun.
Den Svenska Björnstammen – Vart Jag Än I Världen Vänder
DSB was one of the three groups that made it to the final of Metro On Stage last year. I wasn’t that keen on them then but when they came out with this single, the party was on. This single has been played to death on several Swedish radio channels. But it’s so good that I don’t care. I will be jamming the shit out of this song this New Year’s Eve.
Hoffmaestro – Highwayman
I was late to the party that is Hoffmaster. I call them a music cooperation more than a band/group. They are so trippy and I can’t wait to see them live. I know this song is old but it wasn’t officially released on YouTube until 2011, so I say it counts!
