LGBT Worldwide Music Videos – Part II

Elva Hsiao (蕭亞軒) – Let Love Fly (讓愛飛起來)

We have talked about this video when we did our Highlight recap of 2010 Music Videos.

At first, westernized view, Let Love Fly by Taiwanese pop diva Elva Hsiao doesn’t have anything that makes it controversial. Set yourself on the other side of the world, where the single was promoted and we’ve got a whole new issue. Despite the friendly nature of the video, Let Love Fly (Ice Version) was deemed PG-12 in Taiwan, and banned in Singapore — understandable being a Muslim state and all — due to it’s gay “themes”.

I still love that video, it’s so classy and it’s all because of COSMOS, and of course Elva who is also twice on this list!

Are you ready to know which one’s the happiest video on LGBT themes?

Hmmm… I dunno if the arabic pop MV should be so high up – but say what you say about sad music videos (gay or straight), there’s something so much more when there’s tragedy in a video!

@ghost, sadness is cathartic! LOL They are more memorable than happy music videos unless they’re incredibly beautifully shot. Having said that, I still think that Elva Hsiao and Amei’s music videos (though happy) are perfect.

Oh I found out that the first place comes to Ricky XD
I’m latin girl so I know how this thing is in latinamerica and was kinda shock when he told the world he was gay. even so… I suspected about it… everyone did…

=) Ah… I think I’m gonna have a long time watching all these videos. I’m in love with gay love even so I’m not gay hehe thanks for the suggestions…
