Juan: A Life in Music
2001 – Daft Punk’s Discovery
So much love for this album and there isn’t a single track on this that I don’t enjoy. Plus, I remember watching Interstella 5555 a bunch when I was a kid and the way they animated that for the music was so great for me.
2002 – Sigur Rós’ ()
Can we just take a minute to discuss just how breathtaking the music of Sigur Rós is? () will forever remain as my favorite album of theirs and it is hauntingly gorgeous.
2003 – Alicia Keys’ The Diary of Alicia Keys / Amy Winehouse’s Frank
Another year of ties just because I couldn’t pick which one of these women I loved more. Both of their voices just have this magic to them, and both of these albums are their best work for me.
2004 – Keane’s Hopes and Fears
This choice is more wrapped around one particular song, even though I do love the entire album. Somewhere Only We Know is just one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard and it holds a special place in my heart.
2005 – Madonna’s Confessions on a Dance Floor
Yes a third Madonna album! No shame at all! It’s a painfully underrated album of hers and every time I listen to it, it makes me want to get up and dance regardless of my mood. It’s got some spectacular beats and lyrics and it proves that Madonna’s music is still better than most pop stars nowadays (especially a certain lady who tries too hard) — even over 20 years after her first album.
OMG, Jurassic Park – how could you not, right? The magical notes when you first see the island… and then the first time you see the dinosaur.
We could have been best friends in our teens and fawn over Bjork, Lauryn, Madonna and Britney. LOL
And, I agree on your position of 19 > 21 xD
@amy, Seems I should’ve found you guys much earlier. We have too much music in common… HaHa.
