Amy’s 2014 Music Highlights
2. Waa Wei (魏如萱) – You Lovely Bastard (還是要相信愛情啊混蛋們)
Waa Wei’s album is one of those that stays with you and just keeps getting better that more you listen to it. For all I know, the first half of the album is nearly perfect, while the second half just needs a little brewing. My favorite is definitely Unlove (愛不愛), which I can’t get enough of.
You can stream the album on Xiami or get the album on iTunes, YesAsia… or you can try getting it directly from the Team Ear Online Shop, though I don’t know if they ship internationally.
1. Calle 13 – MultiViral
WTF, Amy!
Did you expect this? People that know me totally didn’t. But mother of Gawd~ Calle 13 actually made quite a really GOOD album. A PROPER album. Introductions, interludes, themes and musically varied et all. I don’t think Residente manages to reach the lyrical playfulness that Eminem sometimes reaches [Los Idiotas (The Idiots) comes close], but musically he totally blows him out of this world (eg. El Aguante). Of course, Latin America has always had the best politically fun motivated songs, so Calle 13 has tons of material to work with, but he also manages great Latin folksy music like Ojos Color Sol (Eyes Color of the Sun) or Cuando los Pies Besan el Piso (When Feet Kiss the Ground).
You can stream it on Xiami, buy it on iTunes and Amazon.

And that is IT, people! My music highlights of 2014. I hope you get the chance to listen to these albums and you love them (or at least like’em) as much as I do. But how about yours? What are your favorite albums? I’m looking forward to your choices.
whoa, some really good songs on this latest Calle 13 album.
I was shocked as well. LOL
