Amy’s 2014 Music Highlights
8. Seo Taiji (서태지) – Quiet Night
When in 2009, Seo Taiji made a comeback with Vol. 8 Atomos, I was completely disappointed because he basically made it an album of a Moai and Secret mish-mash. I wanted an album! Compared to his 2004 Vol. 7 Issue, it felt like a money-grab, even though Moai [MV] was a pretty good track. This time around Seo Taiji made an effort and Sogyeok-dong (소격동) [MV] is a beauty of a track.
You can stream it on Xiami, and get it on iTunes or YesAsia.
7. A.R. Rahman – Raunaq
Sorry, only could find a couple of the songs on YouTube.
Leave to A.R. Rahman to release an album of poetry and social awareness. Rahman got together with politician (you read THAT right) Kapil Sibal who penned the lyrics to Raunaq, which can be translated (depending if it’s Persian, Urdu, maybe Hindi?) to something like radiance or joy of life, the elegance, grace [here’s a quite extensive WordReference thread on it]. The album counts with the voices of Bollywood evergreen voices (I still don’t know the use of “evergreen,” but I’ll put that in there) Shreya Ghoshal and the amazing Lata Mangeshkar.
My Hindi/Urdu is horrible, but since I doubt anyone will be translating these~ for music database purposes, I did translate the titles to the best of MY abilities. LOL
- A.R. Rahman & Lata Mangeshkar – Laadli – The Loved One
- A.R. Rahman & Chitra – Sach Kahoon – Truly Speaking
- A.R. Rahman & Jonita Gandhi – Geet Gaaon – Village Song
- A.R. Rahman & Shreya Ghoshal – Kismat Se – From Fate

You can also stream the whole album on Xiami, or get the album on iTunes or Amazon MP3.
Quality-wise (lyrically, music composition, voice), this is top-notch. But just lacks that UMPH factor, in my opinion.
whoa, some really good songs on this latest Calle 13 album.
I was shocked as well. LOL
