Amy’s 2011 Music Highlights
4. Bibi Zhou – Black.Choose.White
I love Bibi. However, since the release of NOW/WOW, I felt her albums weren’t fully there in terms of concept. That all changed with Black.Choose.White, which gave me a broad variety of genres but still felt like a whole. Though I do adore her velvety voice in Sherlock Holmes (福尔摩斯) , I kinda love the looming of Bibi’s rocking side in Blind Spot (盲点).
3. SingerSen – Sirens
I’m really loving this Chinese fusion with electronic thing I’ve been following since the release of Chang Shilei’s Niu China and Sa Dingding’s Harmony. I literally can’t get enough of it, and because of it I’ve been listening to a lot more Chinese folk songs and opera.
** also, I know this track is not from the album but it’s equally awesome. I’m blaming Ghost for posting his list first.
