TCM Classic Film Festival 2014
Friday, the first full day of the festival, offered 26 films to choose from, as well as various events at Club TCM in the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.
Films screened on Friday included:
- A sold out showing on the rediscovered British comedy On Approval (1944)
- The World of Henry Orient (1964), which was preceded by a discussion with stars Paula Prentiss, Merrie Spaeth
- Martin Scorsese’s Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore (1974) presented by Allison Anders
- The premiere of the 70th anniversary digital restoration of Billy Wilder’s Double Indemnity (1944)
- 40th Anniversary presentation of Blazing Saddles (1974) introduced by Mel Brooks
- A nearly sold out midnight screening of David Lynch’s cult classic Eraserhead (1977)
