TCM Classic Film Festival 2012

Sunday began with a presentation of How the West Was Won in Cinerama at the Cinerama Dome. Debbie Reynolds came out and discussed the making of the film with Robert Osborne after the screening.

Many sold out screenings from previous days filled out the TBA slots, including Cover Girl, Raw Deal, Clara Bow in Call Her Savage and The Black Cat. Thelma Schoonmaker was on hand for a presentation of Black Narcissuslook for an exclusive interview with her later this week.

While Angie Dickinson presented Rio Bravo, Robert Wagner came back to present The Pink Panther, Tony Roberts presented Annie Hall and the Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra provided live orchestration for 1924’s The Thief of Bagdad, featuring Douglas Fairbanks in one of his most iconic roles.

The festival officially ended with a closing night party spread throughout its headquarters at the legendary Roosevelt Hotel from 9pm until midnight. This year’s festival not only included more films than previous years, but more guests, more variety, more choices, more heartache, more rain and more fun than ever before.

The Turner Classic Movies Classic Film Festival is now more than just an experiment that turned into a hit, it’s a tradition that thousands of people look forward to each year. Here’s hoping next year is just as thrilling as this year!
