Our Favorite Movie Dads

How are all the fathers spending their Sunday? Did your kids treat you right and serve you the greatest cup of coffee? Spent the afternoon together? Sent you a card? Something?

The YAM Magazine team got together to talk about our favorite movie dads now. Don’t worry, we spent the day with our dads… or watched movies, or at least left them a message on their Facebook page.

Here are our fave dads~

Amy

Hyeon-jun Shin as Tae-ju in Last Present. Two words to describe this: Korean drama.

What is the greatest gift a dad can do for their kid? That’s right. Now go grab your box of Kleenex, call your dad, tell him you love him, and then we can talk.

Ato Mukhamedzhanov as Safar in Luna Papa. For a story of a teen unwed soon-to-be mom in a traditional town, her dad sure sticks up for her.

Mirella

Darth Vader!

Kendra

Clark Griswold!

Rodrigo

Roberto Benigni – Life is Beautiful
Nicolas Cage – Kick-Ass

Can Hugh Grant in About A Boy count?

Marya

Jimmy Stewart as George Bailey in It’s a Wonderful Life and Harry Dean Stanton as Jack Walsh in Pretty in Pink.

Juan

I’ll go with Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird and Captain Von Trapp from The Sound of Music.

  1. shoot I forgot about Steven Martin as George Banks in Father of the Bride!

  2. amy says:

Dr. Ian Malcolm on Jurassic Park 2 LOL, he let himself be chased by velociraptors so his daughter could escape… which she doesn’t, but that’s another story. xD

  3. ghost says:

Benjamin Button abandoned his daughter… but he did it for her, so she could have a normal childhood.

  4. Camiele says:

    How about…

Sam Dawson in I Am Sam (the closest I’ve ever gotten to actually weeping for a character in a film).

Someone already mentioned George Banks from Father of the Bride and Dr. Malcolm from Jurassic Park 2.

Maybe Oh Dae-su from OldBoy… HaHa. I know that’s kinda pushing it considering he was sorta incesting it up. But, I mean, c’mon, he didn’t know that and his whole goal in life was to find his daughter. Plus angel wings for your daughter on her seventh birthday…? Cute, much?

And I’m gonna go ahead and say it, Chris Gardner from Pursuit of Happyness. Just, amazing!

OH! And Solomon Vandy from Blood Diamond. Two words: Djimon Honsou… and I’m done.
