Five Film Directors and Their Olympic Opening Ceremony Concepts

So Danny Boyle’s highly-awaited Opening Ceremony at the London 2012 has come and gone — though we still got the closing ceremony to look forward to — and as I sat there watching my iffy copy of Zhang Yimou’s Beijing Olympic shows wondering whether there was a Bluray release available of it or not (there is not), I came up with the idea of making a list of five film directors that could work for future Olympic ceremonies to represent their home countries.

The 204-petal not-a Olympic Cauldron designed by Thomas Heatherwick was the highlight of Boyle’s show.

And as always, I’m setting myself some rules~

One director per continent~ I’m only counting Africa, America, Asia, Europe, and Oceania. Sorry Antarctica.
