Editor’s Chatroom: Instant Love

Julyssa: Well it is a combination of several things. I am not sure I should share them hahahaha… but I shall be nice *is embarrassed*
Amy: Share your experience with your fans! xD
Julyssa: What fans? :P More than often, those instant loves have happened in combination with me being sad/depressed. My heart has been broken, so it looks for things to mend it.  I am a huge believer in musical, as well as, literature therapy.
Amy: It did with DBSK?
Julyssa: Dude, I am not kidding when I say that DBSK saved my life.
Amy: Wow.
Julyssa: I was not in a good place when I encountered DBSK. It was very dark and scary, I even had thoughts of committing suicide. Then I saw Balloons and I smiled for the first time in a very long while.

Julyssa: Suddenly DBSK became my happy pill. All their music and antics gave me the strength to carry on. Lord, it sounds so sappy but it’s the truth *embarrassed laughter* They made me forget the bad things in my life and focus on the good things.
Amy: And now you’re here in YAM Magazine! Writing about it!
Julyssa: Yes, thank you so much DBSK! I owe you a whole lot!!
Amy: I don’t usually get overcome with emotion a whole lot… maybe that’s why this kind of thing seldom happens to me?
Julyssa: You sound like a robot. A short robot may I add…
Amy: I know I wasn’t depressed when I “met” Bibi.
Julyssa: But isn’t that the thing about entertainment? To be carried away by emotion? Then again, I am mad easy… hahaha I want to think that I am really tough, but as of late, I cry so easily.
Amy: Don’t get me wrong… I love to be carried away by emotion… it happens to me a lot in film. My top 10 is probably filled with movies that have made me cry… but in term of music, I think I have this way… of being moved differently.

From top to bottom, left to right.- Dancer in the Dark, Children of Men, Memories of Matsuko, Pan’s Labyrinth, Grave of the Fireflies, Dogville, Amelie, Moulin Rouge!, Donnie Darko, Jurassic Park.

Julyssa: Dude, tearjerkers! What movie made you cry the most? The one that had me sobbing like a baby was a A Walk To Remember. I am so ashamed, but ah! Can’t lie!
Amy: I have no idea which movie has made me cried the most… but that could probably be Grave of the Fireflies.
Julyssa: The Notebook…. hahah
Amy: I remember the first time I cried… A LOT, not regular crying, but full on gross face and all… it was Dancer in the Dark. Björk’s crying for her son when she’s about to be hanged on Dancer, it was just GUH!
Julyssa: Aw! But sorry as I laugh hahaha.
Amy: And it was just so embarrassing because I was at the cinema… and my dad was sitting next to me, so I spent a big chunk of the film checking out if he was as affected as I was… and when he was, so I just started bawling. Then, when I was done crying, I felt so fresh for having seen such a great film.
Julyssa: HAHAHAHAHAHA. I am sorry but that is priceless. You must have been hit so hard in the heart as to let yourself go in a public place! AWW BUT THAT IS SO CUTE! You and your dad are the cutest!!! So, you are more easily swayed by movies, but not so much with music. I know that with me and music, because of my literature background, I tend to fall for the lyrics. Do you think it’s because you need a visual to go with an emotion?
Amy: I might need the visuals and a story to let my emotions flow, because — like I’ve said — I don’t really listen to lyrics when I listen to music. I listen to voices and sounds.
Julyssa: Yeah! I was about to go in to that. When you hear music in a language you don’t know, well, it’s something else that makes you go emotional — with DBSK it was part the melodies, part their voice and part the emotions you could hear been put behind the words.
Amy: I find movies to be my therapy… then again, I don’t get all crazy with emotions but I cry easily…
Julyssa: I find it hard to believe you cry easily, you are the stern editor after all! ;P Waking me up so early to work…. uff uff uff uff uff
Amy: I do cry easily… when someone I care a bit for passes away, and everyone is so intent in keeping a poker face, I feel the tears forming in my eyes, and I have to try VERY hard to not let them fall in public.
Julyssa: Aw! I cry very easily when I am alone, but not so good at it while in public. Then I can’t make myself cry no matter how much I hurt.

I am a frequent stalker of yam-mag recently and this chat cracked me up because I am like Julyssa; I have many instant loves and one of them is also DBSK. They didn’t save my life but I would say that they added flavor and zest to it and besides, they make me all giddy and spastic and my friends just pretend they don’t know me lol

I really had fun reading this!

Oh, instant loves. I have them all the freaking time. Actually most of the things I stan are due to Instant Love: Dragon Ball, Harry Potter, Sherlock, Doctor Who, Movie!Tony Stark, Kid Loki, Tom Hiddleston~
And I had a case of instant love with Gangnam Style… that’s why I proclaimed it the only K-Pop song I love XD
