YAM Magazine had the chance to be able to talk with director Gonzalo Ladines as well as actors Gisela Ponce de León and Manuel Gold in regards to Peruvian comedy film Como En El Cine.
I love films that become love letters to the cities they shoot in, so when I got the chance to catch Emily Ting’s first fictional feature length, I got to ask her about the making of the film and what makes an expat not an immigrant.
There are a lot of movie all over the world, some left in distribution limbo, some others left unsubtitled, so this is my attempt at making some sort of comprehensive list of what I thought was great… with some surprises, like last year.

Our dear Marya Gates is embarking on an outstanding journey that many of us thought could be impossible- spending 2015 JUST watching films directed, written, co-directed or co-written by women. So I took the chance to make a list because I LUVVVV lists.
Tusks were out, discussions on distribution dates were put on the table, and some hard lobbying was done to put our favorites forward to battle it out. As a result, though local movie distribution is still king, we have some very awesome titles sprinkled here and there for everyone’s taste.
