25. Caramel (سكر بنات)
The first time I heard about this movie, I thought it was going to be a Food Film. Surprise! It’s not! They use it for torture- socially acceptable torture of -mostly- women, but sometimes men.
24. Delhi-6
I was really lukewarm with my reception of Rang De Basanti, which got so much praise. However, Delhi-6 (with its talks on religion, spirituality, mass mentality and caste) came around as a completely turnaround. A.R. Rahman in the soundtrack department to top it all off.

After watching Mrityudand about a year ago, I decided I would eventually veer off the way of Shabana Azmi, and then I went after her niece’s -almost- complete filmography. LOL The films that made it here are:

21. Boat People (投奔怒海)
Eat Drink Man Woman is one of my favorite movies of all time. Delighted you discovered it and that it made your list. Also a huge fan of Rose Tattoo, Auntie Mame, Caramel and El Secreto de sus Ojos.
Great discoveries
Eat Drink Man Woman made it to the top of my list of Food on Film. With the trilogy, I finished Ang Lee’s filmography and was amazed at the variety of his films.

Millenium Actress! One of my faves. Haven’t seen Chakde! India yet, but I remember when the posters were plastered all over the Indian cinema in the town where I used to live (Fremont, California). As for WTF movie recommendations…Have you seen “Hausu?” “Killers on Parade (My Face Red in the Sunset”?” Or maybe the numerous occult flashbacks-within-flashbacks of “The Saragossa Manuscript” Not great great but interesting is “The 10th Victim.”
I’ll keep an eye out for all those titles! I actually got myself a book on surrealist movies that I wanted to check out. xD
