The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: You say good-bye, I say hello!

WEDNESDAY

So Spider-Man #700 was published today and it’s the end of an era. Even if you know comics are cyclical and Peter will probably come back in some months. I’ll miss you, Peter Parker, and while I’ll probably read Superior Spider-Man #1, I will await to see you again! Still, Marvel, you are being shitty to my favs again! First, Avengers Arena and now this? Poor Peter! Damn, poor Mary Jane and Aunt May! Especially Mary Jane, who’s gonna be actually smooching Doctor Octopus. Ew. Whatever, I won’t send death threats… because I still have Miles Morales. Wait, that means Peter Parker died twice this year! LOL, poor fellow! I still love Miles Morales though~

Anyway, here’s a bunch of articles saying what Peter Parker meant to them, and also some interviews with Dan Slott (currently, the most hated man in comics, that poor bastard).

C’est la vie– OMG, Doctor Who stamps!

Forever bitter that I don’t know anyone in the UK who could send me these beauties.

Haha! Loki keeps slaying in the polls~ He’s now topping MTV’s Top 5 Supervillains of 2012 with a crushing 83.8% of the votes. The Hiddles Army is still quite strong.

RDJ talks some more about Iron Man 3, saying Shane Black went for a darker tone in the film, and that Ben Kingsley is an evil genius… I mean, his character is an evil genius. Yep. Also, he’ll use the Iron Man armor for more pedestrian needs:

You know, you guys are probably looking for a really cool answer, but I live in Malibu and traffic getting into LA can be crazy. I’d use it just to fly straight into the city for a meeting or dinner.

Yep, I will totally use it for that too. BTW, Tony Stark wishes us Happy Holidays~

Joss Whedon was interviewed about Much Ado About Nothing, his most recent movie. Yay Shakespeare! But of course, The Avengers questions were asked:

You know, it’s not a perfect film, but it seems to have tapped into a need, and that’s more exciting then — making a perfect little jewel. It’s just hitting somebody in the gut, in a nice way. Kissing them in the gut? No, that sounds awful.

Yeah, kinda. He was also asked about any tidbit he could share about either S.H.I.EL.D. or The Avengers 2… which is practically nothing! Bastard.

Yay! The Dark Knight Rises concept art because you know I love those~

Damon Lindelof, Star Trek Into Darkness‘ co-screenwriter, spills some beans on the movie, talking about easter eggs, timelines, character development and many, many things! He, as well as the rest of cast and crew, is also in love with Benedict Cumberbatch.

Yep, Leonardo DiCaprio was pretty bad-ass in Django Unchained. He bled for his art, yo! Stacey Sher, producer, talked about this incident:

Leo had slammed his hand on the table countless times and he moved his hand further and he crushed a crystal cordial glass. Blood was dripping down his hand. He never broke character. He kept going. He was in such a zone. It was very intense. He required stitches.

Yay! Two more teasers of Saint Young Men anime movie! Their edition of these teasers was inspired by the anime movies they were released with, making one look like Evangelion and the other like One Piece. Although those are images from the OVA that was released on December 3rd~ Also, let’s remember the awesomesauce that was the first teaser!

  1. I will play the sequel generator…once I’m more awake.

out of the Snow White adaptations, the only one I want to see is the black-and-white “Blancanieves” from this year.

somehow I imagine Star Wars wouldn’t work with all that lensflare…when I was dragged to Transformers 2, I amused myself by counting the lensflare. I can’t find where I posted the totals but it was only 1/3 or 1/5 of the lensflare someone else counted in Star Trek IX. I’d be too busy enjoying a rewatch to count the lensflare there.

  2. lol I just waited until the soccer game I was watching reached halftime. Here’s my favorite result from the generator: http://chrryblssmninja.tumblr.com/post/39143412156

My Tina Fey-written and Whedon directed sequel starring Nathan Fillion ended on a positive note (of pretty good profit) saying Whedon is the king of nerds and that his version rises above the basic Hero’s Journey xD I’m content. LOL
