The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Wonder women of the new world!

THURSDAY

Gal Gadot cares not about the naysayers say about her body not being good enough for Wonder Woman.

I represent the Wonder Women of the new world. Breasts… anyone can buy for 9,000 shekels and everything is fine. By the way, Wonder Woman is amazonian, and historically accurate amazonian women actually had only one breast. So, if I’d really go “by the book”…it’d be problematic. […] It’s the physical preparations that I’m starting now. A very serious training regime – Kung Fu, kickboxing, swords, jujutsu, Brazilian…1,000 and 1 things…I’ll gain body mass.

For those who want to cry more about the good-bye of Matt Smith from Doctor Who, here we have the exact moment of the regeneration, and also a behind the scenes featurette where there are more tears from Matt himself. Bring tissues!

But BBC also has been all over the place about Sherlock, and here’s the preview video of Sherlock series 3 on DVD from Amazon (Hi-res and Youtube). Also, new pictures!

And, here’s the first still of The Imitation Game where we can see Benedict Cumberbatch as Alan Turing.

Also, I have a new reason to drink! Yay! Tolkien Toast on Jan. 3rd! Let’s celebrate J.R.R. Tolkien’s birthday!

just gather with some friends at a pub, restaurant, cocktail party or bar and at 9pm local time you stand and raise your glass and say the words ‘To the Professor”

I so will!

FRIDAY

Empire Magazine has Captain America: The Winter Soldier as their last cover of the year, with an issue that will contain all the cool stuff that awaits us on 2014, which is also the year of their 25th anniversary.

On the DC comic side, Denzel Washinton is not being considered for Lex Luthor in the Batman vs. Superman. Instead they say he could be Green Lantern according to some rumors. You know, Jon Stewart Green Lantern and not that Hal Jordan Green Lantern played by flop Ryan Reynolds. Jon Stewart Green Lantern, the Green Lantern we knew and loved from the Justice League cartoons. Yep, that Green Lantern. Well, I guess he will be as old as Batman then? Man, if all these rumors are true, then this is really Justice League Lite!

Finally, on more good box office news, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug not only won the Xmas race over Wolf of Wall Street (not that I would watch that movie for Xmas but oh well), but also passed $500 million worldwide! Yay, get that gold, Smaug!

And that it’s for the last full week of 2013. Before I go, I want to wish Happy Birthday to Samuel L. Jackson, Ralph Fiennes, Jared Leto and Kit Harington!
