The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Weekly comics on your TV. Part II!

FRIDAY

Star Wars: Episode 7 has started filming! And here’s the tweet of the film slate to prove it, courtesy of Bad Robot~

There’s been talk about the Blade Runner sequel, and the possibility of having Harrison Ford there. Speculation time is over! There has been made an offer to Ford to appear in the follow-up! Yep, it’s all official and stuff! Well, Ford has said before (on a Reddit AMA) that he would wants to be in the Blade Runner sequel if the script if good so I guess we’ll see~

Marvel rumors! Somebody has been playing in the IMDB website or knows something we don’t, since Israeli actor Oded Fehr’s (whom I loved in The Mummy and Resident Evil) IMDb page seems to indicate he’s got the part of Dr. Strange. Say what?!? Not that I mind much, could be worse~

Did you know that Universal still has the movie rights of Namor? And rumor has it they want to make a movie about him and it could in 2016? LOL. I mean, Namor is an iconic Marvel character and one of it’s first heroes. I think he’s even older than Aquaman. But still, he kinda works better sneering at other heroes than on his own. And well, I don’t know many actors who could put off his speedo style. I accept suggestions tho!

Here we have some awesome (and unconfirmed) Avengers: Age of Ultron spoilers regarding Ultron, Vision, weapons and costumes, how the Avengers get their funding (yes, the answer is Tony Stark), and of course the openning battle~

And now, on the next Marvel movie to come to the big screen: Guardians of the Galaxy! Here are some character descriptions of all the main dudes (and dudette), as well as the villains and secondary characters~

Chris Pratt had a long Q&A session talking about his character, his physical transformation, shooting with CGI characters, how nobody knows Guardians of the Galaxy, not even himself, and speculated about RDJ actually being Tony Stark~ It was all very informative without being too spoilery. Not that he can even if he wanted too. Those Marvel sharpshooters are way good! Also, the movie will totally be super funny!

I think comedy is very, very important, especially in this film. I mean, if we pull this off right, it’s going to be really hard for other movies to come out like this! [laughs] They’re going to seem pretty unfunny compared to our movie, I think.

James Gunn also talked about the movie and made an interesting comparing and simile about the Guardians and the Avengers~

We fit in, we are Marvel-cosmic, just the outer space wing of Marvel and it is pretty fun. I think of the Avengers as The Beatles and the Guardians are the Rolling Stones. That is really how I feel about the groups.

Finally, here’s a new poster (and some pictures) of Guardians of the Galaxy!

Let’s finish as we started, with Agent CarterHayley Atwell confirmed in an interview that the first season of the series will consist of eight episodes. I actually like that. With fewer episodes, they can concentrate more in the story, without fillers, and thus they will be less likely to fuck up! So yay! Go Peggy!

And that it’s for the week. Before I go, I want to wish Happy Birthday to Iwan Rheon (13), Stephen Colbert (14), George Lucas (14), Cate Blanchett (14) and Danny Trejo (16).

  1. I hope Frankenstein, M.D. turns out well.

Good to hear Renee Montoya’s going to be in Gotham, but what aspects of her stories will they incorporate?

Aw, Namor can be good in his own stories! I’m a fan of his, though, so I might be biased. Still, idk if I’d want a movie for such a relatively little-known character if they can’t do it well…
