The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: This star of England, Glamour made his prize

MONDAY

Watched Terry Pratchett: Choosing to Die, winner of the “Single Documentary” prize in the 2012 TV BAFTAs, and ended up depressed. It is very good though and very deserving of its award.

Thankfully, enabler friend knew what I needed to get out of that funk: a very spoilery video of The Amazing Spider-Man in very crappy quality… and a few moments later, a new trailer!

Then The Dark Knight Rises showed their TV spots #3 and #4. It also made me notice that lately there’s been a tendency to make TV spots more awesome and spoilery than trailers. And talk about spoilers, some images of the children’s book leaked online… wait, The Dark Knight Rises gets a children’s book? Huh.

My evening will then get Hiddlestoned, first with a new interview where Tom talks, amongst other things, about his lack of gaming experience and how much he is a Shakespeare nerd.

Later, Tom was seen on BBC’s Newsnight, still being a Shakespeare nerd and talking about Henry V and the nature of leaders and rethoric, especially during wartime. Just let me tell you, historian Simon Schama gets no brownie points for being kinda pedantic and dismissive.

    Okay… GDI!

As a matter of fact, two young men kissing is one of my favourite things (along with whiskers on kittens and brown paper packages tied up with string)!!!

And 4D… THE HELL EVEN IS THAT?!?!?!?! Does the film come out and give you a hug and tuck you in??? I dont’ even know how to feel about that!

And all I can say is I HATE THAT I CAN’T SEE THE SPICE GIRLS MUSICAL!!! SOOOOO NOT FAIR. This isn’t my inner 13-year-old. This is my everyday existence as I live and breathe and work on people’s taxes! Ugh… why do I live in America where I can’t do anything? Life… not amazing!

Now on to not so squee-like flailing… I can’t say I’m stoked about Les Mis. I actually think if you saw Phantom first, Les Mis just doesn’t stack up. I mean, I saw Phantom in New York three years before I saw Les Mis in London and not even the European epicness could make me like that musical. *sigh* Sorry to say this isn’t very exciting for me.

    But everything else… BEYOND AMAZING!

@Camiele, lol, it’s just that since I’m from Peru, I’ve never seen a grand-scale musical live, so Phantom I only saw dvds or online and while it was awesome, it was never as awesome as the rendition I’ve seen of Les Miserables XD Plus, I loved Victor Hugo’s book more than Gaston Leroux’s XD

      • Camiele says:

@mirella, Granted. Hugo’s book is unreal. One of my favourites, actually. But, it makes sense of you’ve only seen them on DVD. I get where you’re coming from. But still… 4D WHAT IS THAT?!?!?!?!

@Camiele, 4D is when the seats of the theater move, there’s breeze or hot, or smells… anything to add to the “cinematic” experience… which a scary movie, it will be interesting… let’s see if some people don’t pee their pants XD

@mirella, …O.o Oh. My. SHIT!!!!! That’s quite possibly the most intense thing I’ve ever heard in my life. You just blasted my mind.

You don’t usually like musicals? I thought you were the type of having a little gay man inside you. AND OMG, SPICE GIRLS VIVA FOREVER MUSICAL O_O xD

Also, is it going to be Charlize Theron’s week or what? Evil Queen and Co. then Prometheus? Back to back?
