The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: This is a rebellion, isn’t it?

TUESDAY

We know Kylo Ren is a powerful twenty-whine years old, now we also now he’s a creepy mofo. You know that huge ashtray or something where he puts his mask down during Rey’s interrogation? Well, according to J.J. Abrams, who was talking about the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Blu-ray:

The backstory is, that that table has the ashes of the enemies he’s killed. That moment was actually shot for, and meant to be used in, the scene where he was talking to the Vader mask.

Welp, he sure is a dedicated fellow. Does he burn down his enemies himself and collects the ashes? Does he have a special incinerator on the Finalizer? Does he travel with a case full of ash when he returns after killing his enemies? So many questions! Anyway, here’s Kylo and his ahstray full of enemies:

Tom Hiddleston gave away a tiny bit of Kong: Skull Island details. “There is no young movie actress, there is no film director”, yo!

It’s a whole new re-conception of the mythology. It essentially follows a group of disparate travelers and explorers and soldiers who travel to an undiscovered island in the South Pacific. And it’s set in a time period where you could conceive that there are still undiscovered places on the earth. What they find on the island is surprising, and then every character has a very different response to it. It’s going to be spectacular and epic, but also the human drama is kind of interesting as well.

It’s been ages since God of War 3 (yep, 2010, ages!). But there was been whispers and rumors of a possible sequel. This week, there was a concept art leak of God of War 4, and it seems Kratos is goig to kick some Asgardian arse! Yep, Norse mythology, baby!

Yep, Zack Snyder confirmed that we are totally getting another standalone Superman “if we could get a good script”. Not that it ever stopped him before~

But the day will also bring a sad piece of news: Erik Bauersfeld, the voice of Admiral Ackbar in Star Wars, died at 93. “It’s a trap!” will always be remembered by fanboys. He reprised his iconic character in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and we have yet to know if the character will return in Star Wars: Episode VIII with a new voice actor.

WEDNESDAY

Wonder Woman will open three weeks earlier, from June 23 to June 2, 2017. The film will be battling Bad Boys 3 instead of Transformers 5 at the box office. That’s totally doable! Warner also slotted two untitled DC Comics movies for October 5, 2018 and November 1, 2019. Could they be new Batman and Superman movies? Warner also moved back Jungle Book, the one directed by Andy Serkis, an entire year, from October 6, 2017, to October 19, 2018.

Jimmy Kimmel Live will host a Marvel-themed week! On Monday we get “Team Captain America”, a.k.a. Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie and Paul Rudd. On Tuesday: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Clark Gregg, and Benedict Cumberbatch with a Doctor Strange trailer. On Wednesday: “Team Iron Man”, a.k.a. Robert Downey Jr., Don Cheadle, Emily VanCamp, Chadwick Boseman and Paul Bettany. Finally, on Thursday: Chris Hemsworth… but he ain’t promoting Thor: Ragnarok, since it hasn’t even started filming, but Huntsman: Winter’s War.
