The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: #TheSplatIsComing

THURSDAY

Here are the first official Jessica Jones pictures! We have Krysten Ritter as the titular character, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, and David Tennant looking better than he has looked in a while as the villain Kilgrave. Who remains a still a creepy ass mofo tho!

Taking about Neflix/Marvel movie, the Luke Cage cast for should win best Marvel ensemble! Now, awesome Alfre Woodard also has joined the cast! She plays Mariah Dillard, a Harlem politician who’s the cousin of villain Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes (Mahershala Ali). But she’s looking to bring a new era of change to the streets she grew up on. Sadly for her, both her cousin and new hero Luke Cage ruin her plan~

Here’s the new promotional poster of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3. Loving that it’s a guy who’s doing the back pose~

Tom Hiddleston (and many other fine chaps) got interviewed for Mr. Porter apropos of his TIFF presentations. He talked about nudity in High-Rise, and playing King of the Hillbillies in I Saw The Light~

Nichelle Nichols flew in a NASA mission this week (she joined the SOFIA mission on September 15th to be exact), because she’s more awesome than me or you. Also, girl is old hat in this kind of things, having flew in the first-ever airborne NASA observatory back in 1977. Here’s a picture of her looking cool as a cucumber:

FRIDAY

Despite rumours that Pacific Rim 2 may be cancelled altogether, after being “halted indefinitely”, Guillermo Del Toro has cleared the waters by saying he’s still working on the film! He may do another movie in the middle tho! The Pacific Rim sequel was supposed to start shooting in November, for release by Universal on August 4, 2017.

We are still turning in a screenplay and a budget in three weeks. As far as I’m concerned, it’s not gone. We’re still on it.

Tom Hiddleston gave another intervew while at TIFF, where he talked about singing Hank Williams song in I Saw The Light, not having any qualms about doing nudity, and his stand on orgies (“if it floats your boat, who am I to stand in judgment?”)~

OMG! Warner Bros. is developing a Booster Gold/Blue Beetle movie?! And the movie has been pitched as a “superhero buddy cop movie”. With comedy! Welp, that sure is going to stand up against the desaturated and grim DCEU! And dudes are even part of the Justice League! Yep, they would appear in a future Justice League movie. Then again, they have Greg Berlanti as the director. Dude has credits as writer/producer of Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and even Supergirl! Dude also has a story credit on the upcoming Green Lantern and The Flash movies. So yeah, despite saying their are totally different from Marvel, DC are clearly trying to recreate Marvel’s success with films like Ant-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Ben McKenzie is totally working on selling Gotham Season 2. And he sure knows how to spark my interest!

You’re going to want to watch the first episodes. Jerome is very much in those, and Cameron Monaghan does an absolutely fantastic job in the role. I think it will give the show the shot of adrenaline that it needs coming back into Season 2.

The Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence is working on a TV adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere. I know it’s not gonna happen, but I kinda wanted the cast from the BBC radio drama. Sadly, even if it happened there would have to be another Earl of Earl’s Court since Christopher Lee passed away.

After many years (and prayers of fans), the popular game series Ace Attorney is finally getting an anime adaptation, and there’s no objection to that! The anime will begin broadcasting in Japan starting in April 2016.

And that’s it for the week. Before I go, I want to wish Happy Birthday to Andrew Lincoln, Tom Hardy, Amy Poehler, Paul Feig, Bryan Singer and Jada Pinkett Smith!
