The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: There and back again

TUESDAY

First, we got seven character banners from Cloud Atlas. Here’s the ones I like most because they don’t have known actors in weird makeup… and because Ben Whishaw is pretty:

Do you know there’s a Moby Dick Big Read project, where all the 135 chapters of the novel will be read aloud and released in sequence FOR FREE over the coming months? Yeah well, among the celebrities I love already participating are flawless Tilda Swinton and awesome Stephen Fry (reading chapter 1 and chapter 10 respectively). And a new celebrity I love will participate soon: My Posh Alien Prince will read chapter 58, and will be available on November 2nd.

On the Marvel front we have a couple bits of news, The Ten Rings may be back for Iron Man 3. You know, The Ten Rings, the terrorist that kidnapped Tony Stark at the beginning of the movie? Yup.

Sadly, the other piece of news ain’t good. Poor Jaimie Alexander suffered “a pretty horrible injury” on the set of Thor: The Dark World. Apparently it was less terrible than it could have been, and the awesome gal is already recovering #ForAsgard as she puts on her Twitter.

Kick-Ass 2 director Jeff Wadlow has been tweeting like mad about his movie. Can’t say his enthusiasm isn’t contagious.

Finally, check Grover and Cookie Monster (of Sesame Street fame) singing about The Hunger Games, The Avengers, Doctor Who… and refuse to sing about Twilight, LOL.

WEDNESDAY

There’s still lots of Loki love even months after The Avengers premiered. Thanks, Blu-Ray/DVD!

But really, what’s not to love? Check out this giant 10-year-old playing with Mjolnir!

And here are more videos. Also, the S.H.I.E.L.D. database app.

BTW, J.K. Rowling is considering releasing a “director’s cut” of the Harry Potter books. So, her new book Casual Vacancy is to be released this week, but she still gets asked about Harry Potter. And while she is averse to a sequel or prequel, she may think of a “sidestep”, and not from Harry’s POV. Oh please, make the last book but from the students who stayed at Hogwarts! Or the series from Snape’s POV! Pretty please!

We also got a TV spot for Les Misérables, and a TV spot and a poster for Wreck-it-Ralph. OMG, Christmas this year will be full of awesome!

And then, this thing of geeky beauty appeared:

Yup, The Dark Knight Trilogy box set [1].
