The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: The most human

TUESDAY

Habemus a couple of posters of Avengers: Age of Ultron Poster that show all the gang and… they don’t look that great but I will take them. Here’s the first one on my facebook page. The other is basically the same BUT has Iron Man up front instead of Captain America and doesn’t have the Ultrons flying around. But the important thing here is the credits! It has (possibly flashback and/or hallucination) Hayley Atwell, Idris Elba, Anthony Mackie and (possibly dressed) Stellan Skarsgård! OK, Don Cheadle is not credited so maybe he has a small role, but we know he’s there because of the trailer. You know what that means? We have FOUR men of color in the movie! Also, for some reason, Danny Elfman is credited with “additional music”. Considering he made the music for Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2, could it be a hint of Spidey somewhere in the movie? At least a tease of things to come?

Here are the nominations of the Empire Awards 2015, which is the only fan-voted awards I actually follow. Sorry MTV Movie Awards! I will write about you when the time comes tho! Anyway, The Imitation Game is the one that got most noms because Benedict Cumberbatch’s fans do the most~ Other interesting noms (for me) include Richard Armitage as Best Actor for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (which makes me so damn happy), and Captain America: The Winter Soldier getting nominated for Best Thriller.

This week also saw the “premiere” of the Joseph Kahn’s Power Rangers fanfilm with Katee Sackhoff and James Van Der Beek named, well, Power/Rangers. Here it is and enjoy it before Saban manages to take it out as well. Here’s what Kahn had to say:

I’ve seen repurposed stuff on the Internet where they take a property that’s serious and make it even more so, like a Batman fan film or something like that, or a video game or whatever. I’ve actually seen stuff like where they’ve taken ridiculous stuff like Mario Brothers, and then tried to make the dark and gritty version, and they obviously play it for laughs. I think the trick that I really wanted to do with this was to make that dark and gritty version that everybody keeps talking about, but really do it. Really see if I could totally accomplish it with essentially a really incredible, incredibly silly property.

WEDNESDAY

And it’s the start of Avengers: Age of Ultron character posters! This one courtesy of Robert Downey Jr. himself! And he also teased a “big announcement in 8 days”!

We also get promo posters and images. One including a creepy one of Ultron taking over the Iron Man helmet!

Here’s an interview with Agent Carter‘s showrunner Tara Butters about the finale, a possible second season and time jumps!

I don’t see this as a show that only has a couple of seasons in it. This is a show that has as many seasons in it as we want, and as many seasons as we can find a good story for. I hope more people give it a shot because I really do think it’s something you can binge watch.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen American Horror Story, and I totally blame the meh season of Circus. Still, this is interesting news: Lady Gaga will star in season 5 called Hotel. And she will be a regular, not just a cameo or special guest!

Oh my childhood! There’s going to be a new DuckTales series courtesy of Disney XD channel! Sure, it won’t be ready until 2017 but still! I’m ready for more tales of derring do-bad and good! Also, it seems Donald Duck will be there and not just cameo from time to time!

Oh yeah, Netflix will remake Inspector Gadget (also Danger Mouse, but I wasn’t a fan of that one)!

Frozen Fever, the short film based on, well, Frozen, released a trailer! Seems we are getting a new song! You can see the short before Cinderella, which premieres in US on March 13th. Will it become the ear worm that “Let It Go” is? Here’s the youtube trailer that came days later!

You know how Neill Blomkamp is making an Alien movie? Well,  we are indeed getting Sigourney Weaver, and the film will ignore the existence of Alien 3 (and Alien: Resurrection I guess) or so Blomkamp implies. That kinda sucks ’cause I liked those movies, David Fincher’s one better than Resurrection but still!

I want this film to feel like it is literally the genetic sibling of Aliens. So it’s, Alien, Aliens, this movie.
