The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Ready Set Go!

TUESDAY

We were promised more of the Kaiju’s World in Pacific Rim 2! Guillermo Del Toro didn’t want to say how though! But we sure ain’t invading it… yet! Here are the first images (actually banners) of Neill Blomkamp’s new movie, Chappie, at SDCC. It look great, and I hope it’s better than Elysium. There’s also a synopsis:

chappie-posterbanner-comic-con

After being kidnapped by two criminals during birth, Chappie becomes the adopted son in a strange and dysfunctional family. Chappie is preternaturally gifted, one of a kind, a prodigy. He also happens to be a robot.

Kevin Feige has been talking again about Marvel related stuff, and first he says that one rumor that said Hulk is going to have an adventure with the Guardians of the Galaxy? Yep, incorrect! He also talked about the difference between their Quicksilver and X-Men‘s one~

We are very much playing up two things that [Days of Future Past doesn’t] play with: one is his relationship with his twin sister, Wanda; the other is, his backstory as an Eastern European child of a war-torn country, and we follow him throughout the whole movie — him and Wanda — as it relates to their feelings about the Avengers and how that shifts and changes over the course of the movie. So it’s a very different thing than coming out from one, unbelievably awesome showcase sequence of the movie, and much more interwoven throughout the entire movie.

WEDNESDAY

On not SDCC news, here are all the SFX covers of Doctor Who! We have The Doctor, Clara and those other guys… I mean Strax, Jenny and Madame Vastra!

Also, Peter Jackson may direct an episode of Doctor Who, said Moffat. And I just might die.

He’s still incredibly busy on The Hobbit. I’ve spoken to him face to face, and he would like to do one. He accepts that there’s no money and that there’s no time, and it would have to be when he’s available – and I don’t think he’s even been available enough to answer our emails of late! I think it will probably happen at some point.

Some awesome posters of things I want to watch: Guardians of the Galaxy, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies and Ant-Man (yes, I want to watch Ant-Man despite it all!)~ [1] [2] [3]

Marvel has announced a third movie for 2018! It also doens’t have a name yet, but it is totally taked the place The Amazing Spider-Man 3 vacated~
