The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Of Thrones and Princes~

MONDAY

We had the first read-through of Sherlock and I thank BBCOne twitter for this picture:

Damn, Martin Freeman’s fashion style is rubbing off on Benedict Cumberbatch! Anyway, we also have some casting news! Tomi May has joined the cast of Sherlock Series 3 (he was in the read-through). I have no idea who he will be. Maybe Sebastian Moran?

LOL, as I suspected it would, ComiXology crashed after Marvel offered 700 free #1 issues. Damn, Marvel, when you give stuff for free you have to be ready! Everybody loves free sh*t!

So, as Disney’s acquisition of LucasFilms, many wondered what will happen to Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Well, the animation is over. After the fifth season, it’s time to say good-bye. We will get a new Star Wars animation soon though. And The Clone Wars saga wil be explored in other media.

Dane DeHaan talks about working with Chris Cooper again, about Harry Osborn, and how you don’t need to be a fan to act in a Superhero movie (truth!):

I don’t think you have to be a fan of something to do the job. I think ultimately it’s important that I’m familiar with past takes on the Osborn story, more for like common, know-it-all ’cause it’s stuff I should know. My job as an actor is the same job, whether it’s a comic book movie or a gritty Derek Cianfrance drama, or a Chronicle, or a Lawless, which is to take a character and, for lack of better word, to breathe life into it. I’m a fan of acting!

Bryan Singer talks about his approach to X-Men films and also about Magneto!

Because I have both, Ian McKellen and Michael Fassbender in the picture, you’ll deal with both sides of that point of view and it really explores the relationship between Xavier and Magneto and the evolution of that relationship. Where it came from and where it’s going.

BTW, James McAvoy is not sure if he’s goin bald for X-Men: Days of Future Past yet.

Here’s Man of Steel on Total Film cover. The lighting is cool, but I am not sure about Superman’s pose. He looks kinda constipated? Also, I spy Loki up there. I wanna know what’s that about!

And Henry Cavill talks about his Superman and call this story original (as in not based specifically in any comic):

This is a Superman for a modern age. It’s not betraying anything that Superman is, but it is grounding everything in reality. It’s the story of this incredible being who can do incredible things, but whom we can associate with. Because he’s gone through troubling stuff and had to make tough choices.

Jim Carrey talks about his character Colonel Stars in Kick-Ass 2.

It’s going to be fun. It’s different for me. They called me up and said we want you to play this ex-Mafia enforcer,Sam DeStefano style. So I looked at myself in the mirror and went ‘okay, might have to do some work’. I got my own makeup guys together and we just started experimenting and it’s amazing how little you have to do to completely change your personality. We came up with a guy that no one is going to recognize as me. It’s so far away from anything that you’ve seen. It’s really fun.

Well, it’s true that he looks a tad unrecognizable.

OMG! Riddley Scott and Machinima will join to produce “12 short films that will focus on science fiction content that might be grown into feature franchises”… this looks like it could be fun!

You know that fake Haneke twitter account? It was so awesome during the Award season. Well, the creator revealed himself: British web editor Benjamin Lee. Sadly, there will be no more new LOLs. And I will miss them~
