The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Nothing’s been the same since New York

MONDAY

Preparing for tomorrow, today was also a day chock-full of Iron Man 3 stuff. First we have the teaser poster!

We also got new Iron Man 3 pictures. RDJ looks great and keeps ageing gracefully! Congratulations on your genes, sir.

That said, we got our first look of Ben Kingsley’s The Mandarin… he kinda looks like a dwarf from The Hobbit. LOL

And there was another sneak peek of tomorrow’s trailer. Because they are evil and make us want to shiver with anticipation. This one looks more dramatic!

Talking about Marvel movies, here we have possible spoilers for Thor: The Dark World and Iron Man 3. And because I love being spoiled, I read them. If they are true then damn, I want this movies in my life now. The drama along will feed the fandom for months! Read at your own (possible) risk!

So rumor has it that Famke Janseen, you know Jean-Grey in the original three X-Men movies, has a cameo on The Wolverine. So does Logan met Jean-Grey before he joined X-Men? Or is it a flashback? Or Jean-Great is somehow alive again which kinda happens in comics? Dammit mind, it’s just a rumor! Don’t overthink it yet!

Talking about Fox movies, it seems they will handle distribution of Assassin’s Creed movie with Michael Fassbender. Well, at least Fox is not producing! That’s just Ubisoft with Regency.

Here we have a clip of James Bond meeting Q in Skyfall. “A bloody big ship”, indeed, Mr. Bond!

Ok, so while I only like Once Upon a Time vaguely (can’t get to fangirl it just yet), I did love this interview with the showrunners when they say they couldn’t use either Jack Sparrow or Sherlock Holmes in their series. Why? Because they love Johnny Depp’s and Benedict Cumberbatch’s characterizations so much they just couldn’t do it without then. I know it won’t happen, but the sole idea makes my fangirling levels go OVER 9000!

So here’s Martin Freeman admiting that The Hobbit is “the biggest film I’ll ever do”. He also talks about what is was to join that lovefest that is the Lord of the Rings family:

There was a big contingent of new blood. The mixture of people who’d done Rings and people who hadn’t was a nice one – I wasn’t the only person coming into a club. We all looked after each other and you couldn’t be in a friendlier place than New Zealand – they’re pathologically friendly.

Regarding The Hobbit, we also got pictures of Bolg, that ugly mofo of an Orc Chieftain. Ok, I know it’s unfair to call him ugly, maybe he’s a catch to the Orc ladies… are there Orc ladies?
