The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Never too old to kick ass

THURSDAY

Les Misérables is moving to Christmas time. Apparently they don’t want to battle against The Hobbit and would rather match up against Django Unchained instead. Also, here’s a featurette, which tells me I will cry buckets when I see this on the big screen.

There’s a new poster for Hitchcock, and Tony Hopkins looks awesome in this! Love the tie/knife!

We also have a new promo pic of Iron Man 3, where we see Tony Stark with his new Iron Man armor and James Rhodes with an Iron Patriot-like armor.

Marvel Studios president, Kevin Feige talks about Thanos’s reveal and his plans for that villain and Phase two of Marvel’s Cinematical Universe.

Suddenly, you have a million people who had never heard of an Infinity Gauntlet or a Mad Titan learning those terms. I love that. I love when the experience goes beyond the movie theater and encourages people to look deeper into our universe. I was equally excited by the notion that people went out and tried shawarma for the first time.

Yeah, I must confess that while I already knew about Thanos and gave a shrill little scream when he appeared, it was The Avengers that made me try shawarma for the first time.

FRIDAY

These days have been full of Kick-Ass images! We have seen most of the cast (old and new) in their costumes, and that was awesome. So we have pics of Donald Faison as Dr. Gravity, Chloe Moretz making me glad she’s old enough, Christopher Mintz-Plasse as The Mother F*cker, Lindy Booth as Night Bitch, and Jim Carrey as Colonel Stars.

Yay! It’s confirmed that Kieron Gillen will keep writing Kid Loki after Journey Into Mystery! Poor Kid Loki though, Miss America sure has a mean left hook~

Kevin Feige says there will be a new Hulk,  but only after Avengers 2. Which I get, ’cause they will make a lot of movies before that and another one is practically impossible, but as long as we get Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, I’m happy! Possible plots? Planet Hulk and World War Hulk comics may be the winners. So, in his words, why did fans love this Hulk so much?

I think the pathos and humor, most importantly, that Mark and Joss brought to it showcased a different element of Hulk that’s there in the comics, and was always inherent in his character. But when he was so brooding in his other two films, he didn’t get to have that wry sense of humor that Mark did such an amazing job performing.

Damn right, he did!

Also, courtesy of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, here’s The Science of Super Heroes!

Finally, here we have a bunch of clips of this week’s episode of Doctor Who. There’s Mr. Weasley again. Yay!

And that’s it for the week! Before I go, let’s remember Emmy Awards are on Sunday, and BBCAmerica made a career profile for both Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, since both got nominated for Sherlock! Yay!

Also, just as last week… hey, cosplayers!

Okay… again I was ready to throw down a deep comment but then I saw this:

Unlike Psy, Hollywood does not care for originality and just wants money. There’s talk about a reboot or sequel to Gremlins. And it might be in CGI. Why must Hollywood take everything I hold dear and turn it into CGI?

And there is more bad news… a Beetlejuice sequel? Rumors say it keeps moving forward.

    WWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTT?!??!?!??!?!?!??!?!?!?!?

Why…. WHYYYY!!!! Is Hollywood purposely trying to murder my childhood? It’s like taking a kid’s favourite lollipop and replacing it with a popsicle stick with a paint-covered rubberband ball on top! My heart… she is broken DDDD:

EFF YOU, Hollywood. BIG EFF YOU.

Having said that… What IS a Cumberbatch???? xD LOL
