The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Never too old to kick ass

WEDNESDAY

First, Happy International Talk Like A Pirate Day, me Hearties! Here’s an article!

Ok, so there was more “Gangnam Style” on Ellen. And it also shows what a great showman Psy is!

So, does Psy have any desire to do an English version of “Gangnam Style?

The thing is, already like 160 something million people saw the video all over the world, so in that way if I change it now and then like 160 people getting confused. So for this song I think verbal is not that important, nonverbal, I think just the dance moves and how it sounds and how it looks I think that was the point of the story.

Thank you, Psy!

Unlike Psy, Hollywood does not care for originality and just wants money. There’s talk about a reboot or sequel to Gremlins. And it might be in CGI. Why must Hollywood take everything I hold dear and turn it into CGI?

And there is more bad news… a Beetlejuice sequel? Rumors say it keeps moving forward. And considering how Dark Shadows and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter went… Come on, Tim Burton, you cannot keep trusting Seth Grahame-Smith! Anyway, Winona Ryder wants to meet Burton and find the truth.

Talking about sequels, Stephen King revealed the plot of Doctor Sleep (The Shining sequel):

Danny is a hospice worker who uses his powers to help ill patients to pass away without pain. Unfortunately, he runs afoul of a gang of wandering psychic vampires who feed on people’s energy.

Wandering psyquic vampires? I have a slight case of “too many vampires”, so not sure if want. I will probably read it though.

As we all suspected, James Gunn will direct Guardians of the Galaxy. And yes, Thanos will be (one of) the baddies, as well as the one from The Avengers 2.

And finally, we have the new trailer from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and the fandom rejoices!

Oh damn, Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins is so freaking cute, I want to rub my face against his. Damn, I love every single one of the characters, including Gollum. Damn! And if that weren’t enough, there are alternative endings to the trailer, so you can create your own version and send it to friends… In Tom Hiddleston’s words, I’m uncontrollably excited over this!

We also have info on the fifth episode of Doctor Who, “The Angels Take Manhattan“:

The Doctor, Amy and Rory visit modern-day New York. But the Weeping Angels are lurking here too. When one of the TARDIS crew is zapped back to 1938, Amy discovers that time can’t always be rewritten, not once it’s written in stone.

This will be the good-bye for the Ponds. Let’s shed a tear while we watch these promo pics.

Talking about Doctor Who and The Hobbit, Matt Smith wants to film an episode of Doctor Who in New Zealand with Sir Peter Jackson directing. What does dear Peter Jackson say about it?

I’m a huge Doctor Who fan, and I think Matt’s fantastic. Just name a time and place, and I’ll be there!

OMG yes! Please make it happen!

Okay… again I was ready to throw down a deep comment but then I saw this:

    WWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTT?!??!?!??!?!?!??!?!?!?!?

Why…. WHYYYY!!!! Is Hollywood purposely trying to murder my childhood? It’s like taking a kid’s favourite lollipop and replacing it with a popsicle stick with a paint-covered rubberband ball on top! My heart… she is broken DDDD:
