The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Mutants no more

TUESDAY

Here’s the launch trailer of Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition, the latest upgrade Disney Infinity franchise, now with 80% more Star Wars!

Empire had an awesome podcast with Joss Whedon. The conversation was, of course, about Avengers: Age of Ultron. Many things were revealed, like how things got kinda unpleasant with Marvel because of a tug-o-war for some scenes. Also, the origin of the Bruce Banner/Natasha Romanoff relationship, that it was totally his intention to make us believe Hawkeye was a goner, and the one who did die wasn’t supposed to (or at least they filmed a scene when he doesn’t in case Disney didn’t want the character dead), that Thor’s scenes being way larger (which I expected they were since it didn’t make much sense otherwise), and we even had Loki in those, and that we could have had Captain Marvel and/or Spider-Man in the movie. Damn. I wouldn’t have minded a longer movie, Marvel! I did sit through all Jackson/Tolkien movies!

Check out Mads Mikkelsen andGillian Anderson looking stylish and awesome in this Hannibal Season 3 preview to the soundtrack of “Happy Together”!

WEDNESDAY

First promo vid of Digimon Adventure Tri, y’all! Also, it’s a 6-part film series, and the first film will be titled “Saikai” (Reunion) and will premiere on November 21.

Guess who will also be in Captain America: Civil War? Martin Freeman, that’s who! Yep. Everybody and their dog will be there. Don’t mind that much though. I’m sure they won’t share any scene together, but this is the third franchise (fourth if you count both actors playing Richard III) that Martin Freeman shares with Benedict Cumberbatch!

Anyway, the internet has already started speculating which role he will play. According to Latino Review, dude will play Everett Ross, a U.S. government agent assigned to Wakanda. So yes, that will mean Freeman would also appear in Black Panther, if this rumor were to be true.

Joss Whedon deleted his Twitter account on Monday, and some people blamed the “feminist” because they didn’t agree with his depiction of Black Widow in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Whedon’s answer: “horsh*t”. Apparently, he did it because he needed a “quiet place” to “start writing again“.

Supergirl has officially got a series order on CBS! It will come to us in the 2015-16 TV season.

Also, here’s the trailer of Yamasong: March of the Hollows, the tale of a young girl and a tortoise warrior. Yep. And Toby Froud, that’s Labyrinth‘s baby and the son of two puppeteers, is the producer together with Heather Henson (yes, one of the children of Jim Henson). Now only the pupetry, but the voice cast is amazing too! We have Nathan Fillion, Abigail Breslin, Whoopi Goldberg, Freida Pinto, Peter Weller, Malcolm McDowell, and George Takei!
