The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Let the games commence

Greetings, fellow geeks. This week hasn’t had much geeky news for me, sadly… although there was a lot of Hollywood gossip. But we are not here for that, I hope. What it did have was the Openning of the Olympic Games, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves yet~

SATURDAY

First, here’s the Man of Steel teaser trailer:

Which has, for some reason, music from The Lord of the Rings. The awesome factor of the teaser was less when all I could think about was Gandalf. Sometimes being a geek is hard~

Poor Gangster Squad might get delayed or edited because of a crazy bastard. The reason?

The film, scheduled for release Sept. 7, features a key scene in which mobsters open fire on a theater audience from behind a movie screen. Automatic gunfire rips through the screen as horrified filmgoers rush for the exits and police try to stop the mayhem.

In more fortunate ganster movies, here’s a new poster of Lawless, which feature their amazing cast… and Shia LaBeouf. Also, there are some great pictures!

SUNDAY

Here’s the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles second trailer… it’s so freaking cute! Haters to the left!

Sleepy Hollow may happen in TV in a modern-day adaptation. Possibly two. Not sure if want. I might give it a shot though.

Old news about the possible villains of Thor: The Dark World (spoiler: probably dark elves), but hey, lots of pictures of Chris Hemsworth and his wife and daughter. Clearly, Chris doesn’t believe in strollers.

MONDAY

Clip from Anna Karenina. It looks quite theatrical. But damn, Aaron Johnson and Keira Knightley have no chemistry. I hope it is just this scene or something that looks better in the whole movie, because that could be problematic… Jude Law is flawless as usual.

Also, the lastest (probably last?) of the production videos of The Hobbit:

I really love this awesome cast. I could hug them forever.

  1. wow, I’ve been waiting for Dancing on the Edge for a while. Yay Phil Coulson toy!

  2. Camiele says:

I love Spike Lee. I love OldBoy. I wonder if I’ll love them together…? This is one remake I’m more willing to give a chance because, yes, it’s an American remake, but Spike Lee doens’t sugarcoat ANYTHING! This shall be interesting and I’m sort of a little bit excited.

However, I’m less than enthused about the Sleepy Hollow and Battle Royale TV treatments, ESPECIALLY Battle Royale! You don’t just put something like that on CW (the albino offspring of the WB and UPN) and expect it to be good. Gosh… and WHY didn’t they think HBO was a better idea?

I’m also less enthused about the new Silent Hill if the first trainwreck of an attempt is anything to go by. Also, every game after the third one (well, and The Room… maybe) was pretty much not worth it. And since they decided to try to cram all of the first three games into the first movie (I mean, hello, the almighty Pyramid Head doesn’t appear until the second game), I wonder what they’re gonna try to do this time around. Still mad that they decided to use the cliche of a mom trying to rescue her child rather than a single father… that story line was just so much more interesting. The dynamic was completely different. Anyway, I’m going on an SH rage, which no one really needs. Plus, according to you and my brother the atmosphere DOES, at least, live up to expectation. I’ll check out the trailer and think about seeing this one.

Anyway, your fangirliness is always a blessing to my otherwise meaningless existence. THANKS!!!! :)
