Here are some details on the new characters from Star Wars Episode VIII:

Benicio del Toro will be playing a “man in black” who unsurprisingly dresses in all-black attire and is considered “dangerous”.

[Laura Dern’s character] is being described as “aristocratic and fancy” in a way we have yet to see in the Star Wars franchise thus far.

[Kelly Marie Tran]’s look is almost the opposite of Dern’s character. She’s just very normal looking but her situation is supposedly really cool.

THURSDAY

Here’s the full-length trailer and poster for Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events. Well, if the trailer is anything to go by, it’s definitely less white than the movie adaptation. Hello, Aasif Mandvi as Uncle Monty, Alfre Woodard as Aunt Josephine and K. Todd Freeman as Mr. Poe!

FRIDAY

In a move I was not ready for, Khaleesi Emilia Clarke has joined the Star Wars Han Solo film. That’s fine and dandy even if I am not really a fan of her acting… but dammit, she better not be the lead that was mostly pitched as a woman of color/possibly Han Solo’s fake wife, Sana Starros!

John Wick director David Leitch taking the reigns for Deadpool 2 didn’t take me by surprise tho. In fact, I was patiently waiting for the official confirmation. Mostly sure or not, I am glad it actually happened because these are uncertain times we are living in!

Another expected thing is the Doctor Who Christmas Special, and now we have a clip with our first look at the superhero who will team up with The Doctor. In the clip, The Ghost saves The Doctor and his comrades from being shot when he takes down the baddie. This all takes place in New York City, a most appropriate place for superhero shenanigans.
