The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: I am one with the Force

TUESDAY

Habemus new picture of the Justice League film courtesy of Entertainment Weekly. Batman, Wonder Woman and Flash are hanging out in, what internet tells me is, a Gotham ventilation tower. Also, Ezra Miller told EW that his “Flash is Ringo Starr”, and here’s what he has to say about his team-mates… he has no opinion on Superman tho. At least, none was given.

Uncle Fish Curry [Aquaman] is very grumpy. Dad [Batman] gets grumpy too. (He’s had a long life of fighting crime.) Wonder Woman is very considerate, so even though she’s annoyed with the Flash, she’s still very compassionate.

The LEGO Batman Movie has some character posters for us, including the whole Bat-family featured in the film, as well as known villains The Joker and Harley Quinn.

Controversy aside, we have to admit the Hollywood live-action of Ghost In The Shell looks good. Check out some of the concept art from the book The Art of Ghost in the Shell, which will be available on March 14, 2017! Here are the first pages, which mostly feature those cool and creepy (and totally Uncanny Valley) robot geishas!

Let’s talk some Rogue One: A Star Wars Story spoilers! Or rather what-ifs. There was a time where some of those new characters you could come to love (and some of us already do) didn’t die for a new hope, or so Gareth Edwards told Empire~

The very first version, they didn’t [all die] […] We thought we weren’t going to be allowed to but Kathy [Kennedy, President of Lucasfilm] and everyone at Disney were like ‘Yeah it makes sense / I guess they have to because they’re not in A New Hope.’ And so from that point on we had the license. I kept waiting for someone to go, ‘You know what? Could we just film an extra scene where we see Jyn and Cassian, they’re okay and they’re on another planet?’ And it never came. No one ever gave us that note, so we got to do it.

So, if the survival of some of the new characters was in the first draft. What were those reshoots about? What were Jyn, Cassian, K-2SO doing with the Death Star plans running through the beach of Scarif!? They better than answers in the Blu-ray!

From what-ifs to different POVs, Rogue One could be retold on Star Wars Rebels, showrunner Dave Filoni said, that tease! Yes, we saw the Ghost flying into the Battle of Scarif, and a certain General Syndulla was being summoned to the briefing room over the intercom at the Yavin 4 base. Yep, at least Hera (and grumpy droid Chopper) is alive by the time Rogue One happens. And yes, Filoni totally confirmed it is Hera and not his dad Cham Syndulla who’s mentioned. Also, yes, Saw Gerrera will be back to the animated Star Wars shows, and Forest Whitaker will supply the voice in Star Wars Rebels.

Benedict Cumberbatch talked with The Hollywood Reporter about Sherlock series 4, including working with dogs (“very sweet, but was a bit afraid of being in the center of town, afraid of too many people and not great on hard surfaces”) and babies (“I’m a father and I know how difficult it is to get anything in tune with a baby’s schedule. It keeps you in the moment and it stops you being precious about your work”).
