Happy Birthday to Ian Holm and Jason Statham!

Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara said that J.K. Rowling will team up with Warner Bros. to make another movie in the Harry Potter world. Yup, she’ll write the script of a movie about Newt Scamander, the author of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Here’s what J.K. Rowling has to say:

Although it will be set in the worldwide community of witches and wizards where I was so happy for seventeen years, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizarding world. The laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to anyone who has read the Harry Potter books or seen the films, but Newt’s story will start in New York, seventy years before Harry’s gets underway.

Articles commenting why this is a great idea didn’t wait too much to appear! And I hapen to agree to most of these facts!

Oh yeah, Tsujihara also said that Ben Affleck was perfect because this new Batman was going to be “tired, and kind of weary and seasoned”. So, he’s old. But who cares about that when we might have another movie about the Magical World!

Here are new posters of Thor: The Dark World where Odin looks awesome and Loki looks photoshopped. Also, LOL at the poor (probably) dead sod on the background. Also, ABC Network will premiere the full-length trailer for Thor: The Dark World on September 17. I approve of that message!

Also, here’s an interview with Kat Dennings that tells us that while Darcy is “part of the audiences”, she does stuff in this movie!

She loves Jane, she really wants Jane and Thor to be together. It’s almost like her own little soap opera that she watches. […] But there are a lot of awesome sequences involving Darcy that I think fans of the movie will be excited to see — and that I, as a fan, was spoiled to be doing. You’ll see Darcy as you’ve never seen her before.

Also, it’s official: J.J.Abrams ain’t directing the next Star Trek film. He will produce it and will be helping the screenwriters though! So yes, if you hated his Trek, then sorry because he still has his fingers all over the franchise~

FRIDAY

You know those Star Wars spin-off/standalone movies that will alternate between the new trilogy? Disney has confirmed they will be origin stories! Well, they sure wanna make their investment was worth it!

Apparently, Peter Davison (the Fifth Doctor) will be in Doctor Who‘s 50th anniversary episode. As one can expect, he doesn’t say what’s he gonna do in it. But he also talks about being quite glad to have Peter Capaldi as the new Doctor since he “grew up with mature Doctors”. Also, he wishes his grandchildren appear on the show someday, continuing the tradition of his daughter and his son-in-law, and also Doctor, David Tennant.

Total Film was talking to Jamie Foxx and Channing Tatum apropos of White House Down… but they talked about comicbooks. Foxx really wants The Sinister Six to happen in some The Amazing Spider-Man movie. Tatum, though, wants some X-Men action and be Gambit. LOL no!

Hugh Jackman was supposed to wear something ressembling his comicbook uniform in The Wolverine. As we could all see, it didn’t happen. But wanna know what it looked like? Here it is in all its 3D printed glory and it looks great… at least in that box.

Finally, there was this iTunes Festival at the Roundhouse in Camden and Sir Elton John was there delivering awesome music as usual… but the relevant part?

Tom Hiddleston and Benedict Cumberbatch were spied dancing up a storm in the front row of the upstairs balcony.

Dammit, where are the paparazzis when you need them!

And that it’s for the week. Before I go, through all the week, there has been reports about the online petition for a Loki movie, “Free Loki“. And now it has reached over 20,000 names, thanks to all that free publicity! Tom Hiddleston was made aware during his Twitter chat and is “flattered and amazed“. Really and truly, you guys! Of course, he said Marvel has nothing of the sort planned but, “never say never“. Let me tell you, as much as I love Loki and Hiddles, I want that man to have a long and varied career, so no, I haven’t signed it. However, I could get behind a Kid Loki movie with Tom as Loki only appearing at the beginning and the end, and as the voice of Ikol (Loki’s spirit in the form of a magpie).
