The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: #HailHydra

THURSDAY

Here are pictures of the most awaited wedding of the year~ Yep, we are talking about The Purple Wedding in Game of Thrones~ So yeah, look how awkward Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) and Margaery (Natalie Dormer) look together in stills from the episode called “The Lion and the Rose”. Besides we have pictures of Ygritte (Rose Leslie) looking pissed, and another of Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane) and Ser Davos (Liam Cunningham)~

So, we could get more X-Men spin-offs other than Wolverine, who is the main character of practically every X-Men movie except for X-Men: First Class~ Fox has seen the light and wants to squeeze every last cent of their X-Men franchise. Yeah, Marvel will get that one out of Fox’s cold dead & metaphorical hands. Here’s what X-Men producer, Lauren Shuler Donner, has to say:

There was a regime [at the studio] that didn’t see the worth in [spin-offs], and the current people who run Fox understand, embrace it, and we’re going to do right by it. I’d like to do Gambit. I’d like to do Deadpool. We’ll see. There’s a lot of really great characters.

There are also hints of a possible Mystique movie. ‘Cause Jennifer Lawrence obviously~

And because we nerds always have lots of opinions (and we love to share them), here’s an article on “How Sony Can Have a Successful Spider-Man Cinematic Universe”. I like the Spider-Men idea but only if they cast a Miles Morales! Sorry, I care not for watching Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in the same movie. Nothing against those guys, but Miles Morales dammit.

FRIDAY

So, that one character who died in the latest episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., totally dead and not faking it. Or at least that’s what producer Jeffery Bell says~ Then again, you know dead is cheap in comicbooks AND comicmovies. Just ask Agent Coulson~

Chris Pratt looks badass in his Star-Lord get-up! That helmet mask is awesome! Here are more new pictures of Guardians of the Galaxy.

Back to those Spider-Man spin-offs. Seems that we’ll get to watch both Venom and Sinister Six before we get to see a The Amazing Spider-Man 4 (if they don’t reboot it first)~ Also, they are kinda hinting that Sinister Six will be a redemption story.

Everybody’s looking for redemption; they’re unforgiven. Would you see one of the Sinister Six starting to feel like that? Yes. And people love it, by the way. They love when a villain finds his way back because we’re all very forgiving.

Mr. producer Avi Arad, you know that only works if the villain is very hot and/or very badass, right? So, of the original Sinister Six, who is going to get their hot and badass make-over to merit a redemption story? Place your bets!

Guess Bryan Singer et al will keep moving on the decades. Yep, X-Men: Apocalypse is gonna be in the 80s, and they will also “introducing familiar characters at different ages”. Also, X-Men: Days of Future Past will give us clues, even if we may not realize it.

You won’t feel at the end of the movie that it set up Apocalypse. What it does is it sets up possibilities. But what we’ll discover in Apocalypse is that events in this movie made that happen.

And that it’s for the week. Before I go, I want to wish Happy Birthday to Hayley Atwell (5), Francis Ford Coppola (7),  Jackie Chan (7), Elle Fanning (9), Orlando Jones (10) and Charlie Hunnam (10).
