The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Guillermo’s bringing sexy back~

WEDNESDAY

I must say I appreciate that Guillermo del Toro made sure that the Fishman in The Shape of Water had a sexy ass. In the film’s official art book, Guillermo del Toro’s The Shape of Water: Creating a Fairy Tale for Troubled Times, it says that “when it came to his sex appeal, one attribute was key.” The book adds, “The amphibian man had to have a great butt”. Damn, now I want to watch that movie more!

Every female in the del Toro household was crucial. “Too much derriere, not enough derriere, the shoulders are not beautiful enough.” The butt we show abundantly in the movie. It was a very delicate sculpture process because it always had to be run by my household.

Writer and producer Colin Trevorrow talked about the theme of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (and how it’s totally not like The Lost World):

To me it’s about greed. The first film is about how if there’s money on the table, there will be somebody who will do the worst imaginable things, or in a lot of case, the dumbest imaginable thing in order to get that money. This film focuses a little bit more on our responsibility for these animals that we’ve made as a result of that greed, but also just the darkest and worst instincts of humans, again, if there’s money involved.

Well damn, it seems Justice League could finish its theatrical run with even less than expected. In fact, it might now surpass Man of Steel‘s total of $668 million.

This day was also a time to remember Carrie Fisher, who left us a year ago. Here’s a lovely editorial, courtesy of The Mary Sue, and here’s Mark Hamill’s heartfelt tribute via Twitter~

Here’s an amazing teaser trailer for a Star Wars fan video that will update the Obi-Wan and Darth Vader lightsaber battle from the original Star Wars movie. YouTube user FXitinPost published this video announcing this full reimagining called “Scene 38 Reimagined”, which is due out in 2018.

Here’s a small teaser trailer for a project I’m VFX supervising, ‘Scene 38 ReImagined’ is about the final confrontation between Ben Kenobi & Darth Vader in A New Hope nearly 20 years after the events of Revenge Of The Sith. More to come soon!

Here’s a new image of James Wan’s Aquaman, where it seems Arthur Curry is battling a mysterious foe in black armor. Could that be Black Manta?
