The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Great franchise news… that suck a bit

WEDNESDAY

The Marvel Superheroes are in Disney Infinity and it looks so awesome and cute! Some characters to be included in the game will be all the Avengers from the movie, plus Spider-Man and, of course, Loki~ The official presentation was also kinda cute, since it had Samuel L. Jackson introducing Clark Gregg via video. Here’s the trailer:

Hugh Jackman talks about possible Wolverine movies and which comicbook storylines will be used. Yep, we are talking about Old Man Logan because, ahem, reasons~

Well, of course we’re looking at Old Man Logan, because that may be the only option left at this point! [laughs] We are looking at a lot of different storylines. No one has jumped out. You can tell from my answer that we’re still working it out.

Yeah, remember the part in the Doctor Who 50th anniversary episode where John Hurt kinda slightly regenerated into Christopher Eccleston but actually didn’t? And some fans complained? Here’s Troll King Steven Moffat’s answer~

It was one thing to include [Eccleston] among all the other archive Doctors, as they flew in to save the day — in fact, it would have been disgraceful to have left anyone out — but placing him in that scene might have given the impression he’d actually turned up for filming, which would have been crossing the line. Not taking part in the 50th was a difficult decision for Chris, taken after a lot of thought and with great courtesy, and not respecting his wishes would have been grossly unprofessional and disrespectful to a good man and a great Doctor.

Here’s the second trailer of Penny Dreadful, but I post this basically as an excuse to also give away the link to the pilot, which you cannot see unless you live in the US… or have Hola! It was a good pilot, BTW. Not great, but good. Will continue watching!

Syfy is orfering quite a lot of new scifi and fantasy series, and while Syfy’s series are hit-or-miss to me, I appreciate their efforts and while check them out when they come! So, we have three are comic adaptations — Letter 44, Pax Romana, and Frank Miller’s Ronin — amd The Magicians, which is based on Lev Grossman’s urban fantasy novels. All look damn promising!

THURSDAY

Here are three clips of X-Men: Days of Future Past that include Magneto and Professor X having it out about their differences, Wolverine meeting a Hulk-like Beast, and Mystique kicking ass in all her shake-shifting naked glory~

Do you know how Andrew Garfield was all nice about the chances of seeing Miles Morales in Spider-Man films? Well, producers Avi Arad & Matt Tolmach are assholes and dashed our dreams~

The one thing you cannot do, when you have a phenomena that has stood the test of time, you have to be true to the real character inside – who is Peter Parker? What are the biggest effects on his life? Then you can draw in time, and you can consider today’s world in many ways. But to have multiple ones… I don’t know if you remember, but Marvel tried it. And it was almost the end of Spider-Man.

F*ck you! Miles Morales was not the end of Spider-Man! He’s awesome!

Bryan Fuller is “very confident” that Hannibal will be renewed for another season. I might cry tears of joy! Ratings are still not that great, but the critical acclaim is so yay for that!

I hear very positive things. All of the creatives at NBC are so supportive of the show and want it back, and the schedules and salespeople are like, ‘It’s a new show, get rid of it’. We are banking on the creative people winning out over the salespeople.
