The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: From basement to mainstream

TUESDAY

Kid Loki in Young Avengers, I am so happy I could cry! But where’s Speed and Patriot, though?

There’s also an interview with writer Kieron Gillen and artist Jamie McKelvie about what the story is about and the relationships and personality clashes between the characters… I am also not loving this cover, but maybe I’m just still missing Jim Cheung style. No prob, I’ll give this McKelvie a try… and because I love Gillen so freaking much.

We have the first clip for Wreck-it-Ralph, where we meet Vanellope von Schweetz, and also a kick-ass retro “TV spot” [1]!

OMG Peanuts on the big screen! I know it will be in 2015, but I don’t care! I’ll see Charlie Brown et al in a theather! Please, please, don’t f*ck it up!

Weird concept art for the Jurassic Park IV that never was. Do not want! I meant those Dinosaur/Human hybrids could be awesome for a freaky movie (produced by Guillermo del Toro or something) but not for anything Jurassic Park-related! Glad to know they were scrapped!

WEDNESDAY

We have five rumors regarding Iron Man 3… I only worry for the 1st one. Lots of villains do not make a good movie.

Damn, those Iceland locations for Thor: The Dark World sure look pretty and otherworldly! So can anyone tell me how to pronounce “Fjaðrárgljúfur”, I kinda don’t trust Google Translate’s take on it.

We also got a preview of the creepy/awesome Death of the Family covers, which seems to be The Event in DC Comics now. Poor Bat-family~

Adventure Time With Fionna & Cake will get a six-issue miniseries! Yes! It was obvious it was going to happen, because that episode was such a hit with fans, but I’m still glad and excited for it!

Johnny Depp wants to do a TV series with a modern take on Shakespeare works, “building on the existing characters and plots from several of his most notable plays”… Once Upon a Shakespeare, I guess. As a fan of The Bard I say, Watch All The Shakespeare!

Lovely behind the scenes pictures of photographer Nicky Briggs that include two of my favourite BBC productions recently: Parade’s End and The Hollow Crown.

O.O CHARLIE BROWN ON THE BIG SCREEN?!?!?! Oh my god, if they fuck this up, my childhood will officially be RUNED!!! RUNED I SAY!!!!

That’s pretty much all I could process. I was going alone, enjoying the fangirliness, and THAT THING HIT ME IN THE FACE!!!! *sigh* I really… REALLY hope it’s not some CGI nightmare (like TMNT and The Smurfs… but it probably will be and my heart is breaking just thinking about it.

Hollywood, PLEASE don’t make me hate you more than I already do… PLEASE!

      @Camiele, well, while the TMNT movie wasn’t that good, I am digging the Nickelodeon show! That said, I want a Charlie Brown movie like the other Charlie Brown movies ;A;

“Here’s the trailer to remind you how pretty it was”

You should review Parade’s End and sell us on watching it.

    I can’t wait for Skyfall.

I’ve seen Amell on Hung before, but I’m not sure about watching Arrow yet. I think I’ll wait for it to air on Warner Channel. My biggest fear is a show that eventually becomes like Smallville.

Not a big fan of the Peanuts franchise, but I’d wait for a trailer to see if it grabs my interest.

  3. aw that P.S. scene should have been included! I really like all of the Pond-Williams-Song family but Amy and Rory’s departure scene left me cold. and I’m not even a hater!

Apparently… I’m so 50/50 on my liking of controversial looks. LOL

And you know why The Munsters looks like that, because it’s Bryan Fuller. It totally looks like Pushing Daisies 2.0 only without the magic.

And YUCK at those Jurassic Park concept sketches. >,<
