The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Ellen’s back, tell a friend~

THURSDAY

The new Thor: The Dark World poster is a lovely clusterfuck~ Poor Christopher Eccleston though. He’s the main villain and his name doesn’t get top billing on the poster. Instead we get Tom Hiddleston. As much as I love him and Loki, he ain’t the main event as far as villain are concerned… or is he? He sure is the only one smiling!

It’s time for Marvel to change poster designers.

We might get the name of the new Doctor on Sunday! OMG! Here are some details on Doctor Who Live: The Next Doctor!

Aaron Taylor-Johnson talks some more about the possibility about being Quicksilver in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

That’s what we’re in talks about really, right now – how I could become that character and not feel forced. I might not look right with white hair, and the accent may be wrong… it just doesn’t work like that. It’s about – unless you’re Jim Carrey or Nic Cage and go ‘This is the character’, people go ‘OK, OK…’ When people haven’t been shown your range like that, then they’re a bit more skeptical – they may not want you to push the boundaries in that way. But that’s what I’m interested in as an actor…

He sure has done his homework on the character and it has great appeal for him!

Ok, fine. We have dates for Avatar 2, 3 and 4: December 2016, 2017 and 2018. He has also hired a lot of writers in order to make this movies simultaneously ala Peter Jackson in The Lord of The Rings/The Hobbit.

FRIDAY

Yay, Ellen DeGeneres returns to host The Academy Awards!

It’s official: I’m hosting the ! I’d like to thank @TheAcademy, my wife Portia and, oh dear, there goes the orchestra.

On not so good news, Hollywood is still trying to remake Akira. Dammit, Hollywood, I thought we already settled this? I am not here for New Manhattan!

Joss Whedon is quite focused on doing The Avengers: Age of Ultron, and he doesn’t have time for a crossover with the other studios with Marvel titles~

That’s not the plan. It would be cool but I think right now I already have a ton of very talented actors in my movie playing a ton of characters, and I’m about to add a few more. So I’m not like, ‘How can we get more licensed characters because I want to kill myself and make a nine-hour movie.’

Finally, this Friday there was a rerun of Sherlock‘s “The Reinchenbach Fall” on BBCOne. After that we were treated with this preview.

How can less than 30 seconds of images could totally put the fandom into a frenzy? And there was even a rumor that it wasn’t even real footage! Mark Gatiss said it totally was though~

And that’s it for the week. Before I go, here’s some viral marketing for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes [1] and X-Men: Days of Future Past [2]!
