Apparently, Tom Hiddleston could appear at San Diego Comic-Con this year promoting Kong: Skull Island~ I hardly think we will get as memorable a time as when he appear dressed as Loki at San Diego Comic-Con 2013. But I wouldn’t mind if he tries. While he will be at Hall H as Captain James Conrad, some fans are hopeful that he might pop by Marvel’s presentation for good old Loki fun. I wouldn’t mind, but I find it doubtful.
Looper got themselves some cool Spider-Man Homecoming set photos! Yep, here we have Tom Holland dressed in the iconic Spider-Man suit... and a backpack! Such a teen! Spider-Man: Homecoming began shooting earlier this June in Atlanta.
In comicbook news, remember all the drama because Marvel were asses and turned Captain America into a HYDRA sleeper agent since he was a boy? Well, in Captain America: Steve Rogers #2 it was revealed that Steve’s memories of indoctrination were implanted by Kobik, the sentient Cosmic Cube who became a girl. But wait! There’s more! Kobik has been under the influence of ugly asshat Red Skull for months! That’s fine and dandy, but there was a lot of bad press because of the first reveal, and not even Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso was expecting it:
We’re trained to anticipate a strong reaction to change or a big plot twist like this, whether it’s a female Thor or the new Ms. Marvel or the Korean-American Hulk. We didn’t expect the reaction to be anywhere this big. It was comparable to the way that people reacted to the death of Captain America.
With Harry Potter and the Cursed Child opening as a stage play in London, and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them bringing the wizarding world back to cinemas, some people might breath easier knowing Daniel Radcliffe hasn’t ruled out playing Harry Potter again:
It would depend on the script. The circumstances would have to be pretty extraordinary. But then I am sure Harrison Ford said that with Han Solo and look what happened there! So I am saying, ‘No,’ for now but leaving room to backtrack in the future.
So, how about doing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child when you, Rupert, Emma and Tom are old enough?
Game of Thrones season 6 finale drew series-high ratings with 8.9 million viewers. Previous record-holder was season 5 finale, which attracted a then-series-high 8.1 million viewers.

In awesome comicbook news, Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau is hero in new Marvel comic! Trudeau will appear on the variant cover of Civil War II: Choosing Sides #5, slated for release at the end of August. The storyline centers on Canadian superhero squad Alpha Flight, now working for Captain Marvel’s worldwide defence program. When faced with a moral quandary, the team decides to seek out Trudeau, their old boss, for advice. Canadian artist and writer Chip Zdarsky talked about it:
Hopefully, I did a good job. Maybe I’ll get a call from him saying: ‘How could you have me saying that to … Iron Man?”It’s a little tricky just because once you start to put words in the prime minister’s mouth, we acknowledge that this is basically Trudeau fan fiction.
So, that new twist in the “Captain America is a Hydra sleeper agent” story? James Gunn talked about it. Which was expected since he got some amount of hate for saying people were overreacting over Marvel’s decisions:
I know the people-behind-the-twist said the change was serious in interviews. I don’t know why they did that, and I don’t think it was a great thing to do, but I doubt there was any malevolence behind their words, and OF COURSE the change wasn’t serious. This is COMICS where nothing is permanent and our heroes die and come back on a regular basis and even those changes the creators intend to be permanent (hi New 52) rarely are.
In other news, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition has regaled us with a much better look at Jason Momoa as Aquaman. He looks great, and here’s exhibit A:
We are definitely getting more Preacher, and Season 2 will have 13 episodes! That’s like 3 more than Season 1!
