The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: DC delays, Marvel celebrates~

THURSDAY

Here are the nominated ones for the Oscar, and their reactions to said nominations. Their feelings include being happy, chuffed, honored and/or total shock. But more importantly, here are the ones that didn’t get nominated~

Also, here are more pictures of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, where I am still surprised for how good the Spider-Man’s suit looks.

Comic book writer Ed Brubaker talked about Captain America: The Winter Soldier and he was very enthusiastic about it!

It’s the best movie that Marvel has ever made. The stuff I’ve seen from it, it also has two of the best fight scenes that I’ve ever seen on film.

BTW, there’s a new 1/6th scale Loki Collectible Figure for Thor: The Dark World. This one has a different mold though and doesn’t look like Hiddles as much as the one from The Avengers. And that makes me sad.

FRIDAY

Batman vs. Superman will now premiere on May 6, 2016. Damn, they totally know they will get destroyed by The Avengers: Age of Ultron~ Oh yeah, Warner also moved the date for their as-yet-untitled Peter Pan movie to July 17, 2015.

We are happy to take advantage of these coveted summer dates, which are perfect for two of our biggest tentpole releases. We share the fans’ excitement to see DC Comics’ most popular figures, Superman and Batman, together on the big screen for the first time, which will now be arriving in theatres in May 2016. Peter Pan has delighted people of every generation for more than a century, so we are thrilled to bring him back to the screen next summer for today’s moviegoers.

Director James Gunn talked to Total Film about Guardians of the Galaxy, and he sounds quite enthusiastic about it. And he totally doesn’t think it’s the riskiets Marvel film.

I don’t think it’s the riskiest Marvel property. I think Iron Man was by far the riskiest. It was a film company that didn’t have much, raising money to make a film based on a property that wasn’t that much more well known than Guardians of the Galaxy. So I think it’s not even close to the riskiest Marvel property.

Zoe Saldana also talked to Total Film, and had nice words of praise for James Gunn~

He’s my kind of director. Animated, passionate, alive, young, fresh, full of ideas, and willing yo give 150 per cent.

Yay! ABC Entertainment President thinks there’s a “good chance” that Agent Carter could be made.

In terms of Agent Carter, the script’s come in. It’s a really good script, written by [Christopher] Markus & [Stephen] McFeely [who scripted both Captain America: The First Avenger & The Winter Soldier]. So that one certainly has a chance to be on the network.

Also, Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas have been confirmed as showrunnners… if Agent Carter happens of course.

OMG! The Lady Sif will be on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.! Well, considering their not-so-great ratings, I’m glad they have Jaimie Alexander on show as a very special guest~ Keep ’em coming, Marvel! Maybe if Hiddles is free he can appear like a couple of minutes, you know he’s up for anything.

And that it’s for the week. Before I go, I wanna wish Happy Birthday to John Lasseter, Orlando Bloom, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, James Nesbitt, John Carpenter, Zooey Deschanel, Jim Carrey and James Earl Jones!
