You know Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles? Adapted in the awesome Interview with the Vampire and the not-so-awesome Queen of the Damned movies? Universal Pictures has acquired movie rights and it smells like franchise! Because this is the world we live in now~ The franchise world! And I totally do not mind, in fact I want it… except that Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci will produce. OK fine! But please don’t let Kurtzman & Orci write any of the Vampire Chronicles films!
Anyway, there’s a bunch of Jurassic Park posters we have never seen before! Like over 30! Here’s a couple:
Moffat seems to have realized the online minisodes of Doctor Who are quite important to fans (my personal favourite is “The Night of the Doctor” because Paul McGann) and they are watching them. And thus we will have more of those for the Capaldi era:
We’ll do more prequels and stuff. I’ve been in to talk to the channel controller of iPlayer and say ‘We need proper money for it’, and they’re very keen. And we don’t call them prequels, we don’t call them minisodes, we just call them Doctor Who. That’s all they are. As I say, why not do an episode that’s ten minutes? Or an episode that’s half an hour? It depends what it suits.
Joss Brolin seems very enthusiastic about his being Thanos for the forseeable future in the MCU and I like it:
Having done different series and all that, it’s like doing the best series you could ever do. You know you’re taken care of, you know the manifestations are good, you these people are at the top of their game. […] This is already set up, and it’s set up brilliantly. It’s like, ‘Okay, now how are you going to utilize it in a way that’s within Avengers, within Guardians, within that?’ I don’t know if there’s anybody better than them [Marvel Studios]. They understand it. They live it. I can tell you live it too, and it’s that kind of a thing. It’s like, I’m catching up to you guys, and I love the idea of catching up to somebody.
Guardians of the Galaxy has already passed $200M worldwide! Yes! Get money, babies! Get money, Marvel! Come on, China, you better watch this freaking movie because is way better than Transformers: Age of Extinction dammit!
Disney Parks are not living up to the potention of Disney having acquired Lucasfilm, and CEO Bob Iger has noticed! Yup, Disney Parks will begin offering more Star Wars attractions, and perhaps even an entire theme park. Also, more Indiana Jones!
FRIDAY
Doctor Who premiered the first episode of series 8 in Cardiff, Wales. Here’s a lot of odd things we learned… because I live to spoil myself. So, the most important things? No new sonic screwdriver, “No hanky panky in the Tardis”, and “Shhhh!”
Here’s a first look at Arkham Asylum in Gotham, which looks appropriately creepy! Also, a bunch of promos [1] [2] [3] and man, me of little faith, this show looks the best of the bunch of DC TV shows!
OMG yes! Outlander premiere had almost 1 million views through Starz preview! And I bet they would have had way more if they had let us poor not US residents to watch it legally~ Oh well! And they had 600,000 unique viewers… That means a lot of people have seen the episode twice (or maybe even more times). Starz CEO Chris Albrecht knows where is at. Also does he know the fan terminology or just used “thirsting” coincidentally?
We’ve heard from fans the world over who are anxiously awaiting to see how we’ve brought Claire and Jamie to life in what may possibly be the most highly anticipated series in Starz history. Our Outlander sampling strategy serves the dual purpose of giving early access to the series premiere for those fans thirsting to watch it as soon as possible, as well as providing a vehicle that introduces the Starz experience to prospective new subscribers who are eager to learn all about this great new series.
