In this important day for Harry Potter fans, we have these lovely covers for the new British illustrated edition of the Harry Potter book.

Here are Gotham‘s cast promotional pics! There are lots of them, but here are ones of what I am sure will be my favs~

On the Marvel side of TV series, Agent Carter won’t S.H.I.E.L.D., in fact it will be a prequel for the one-shot. They are uncertain the role of Hydra in the show, but they do know they will have a “one major Marvel villain”. They ain’t spoiling who he is yet~ Also, Edwin Jarvis will be there with Howard Stark and Peggy Carter! He will be an ally to Peggy, including potentially providing her with access to tech. Who’s Edwin Jarvis? In the comics, he’s Tony Stark’s butler… who was replaced in the MCU with J.A.R.V.I.S. But that AI was based on a real life person who was probably part of Tony Stark’s childhood, and now we will meet him in Agent Carter!

James Gunn told a bit about what he has in mind for the sequel of Guardians of the Galaxy. Mostly, backstories! And other members of the Guardians!

I know a lot of things about Drax and Rocket that have yet to come. And it’s really not so much about what those stories are but how those will be partitioned in films – how much we tell in any one of these films. I know a lot about Peter Quill’s father and there’s only three people that do – me, Kevin Feige, and Michael Rooker. And I only told Rooker because he’s delivering him to his father, so I had to tell him the backstory of all that. […] You’ll have to wait and see, but I definitely have plans for other Guardians.

So, that The Snow White and the Huntsman prequel/spin-off, The Huntsman that will obviously have Chris Hemsworth but not Kristen Stewart? It will totally have Charlize Theron though! That’s a yay even if she wasn’t great in the movie. Also, the movie will premiere in April 22, 2016.

FRIDAY

Every Box Office expert thought Guardians of the Galaxy will make about $65 million on its opening weekend. Well, they are wrong! Guardians of the Galaxy already broke the record of the biggest Thursday opening of 2014. It seems it will make to upwards of $90 million. Congrats to the cast and crew. And specially Marvel. It seems you guys will keep printing money!

Here was an interview with Kevin Feige that touches the subject of female-lead Marvel movies:

I think it comes down to timing, which is what I’ve sort of always said, and it comes down to us being able to tell the right story. I very much believe in doing it. […]  I hope we do it sooner rather than later. But we find ourselves in the very strange position of managing more franchises than most people have — which is a very, very good thing and we don’t take for granted, but is a challenging thing.

Sure, “being able to tell the right story” is important… but what’s with the “I hope” crap, Feige! You are the Big Boss! If you want it, it will happen. I can’t believe nobody can make a “right story” with a female lead that can be linked to the whole MCU!

In another adventure of “David S. Goyer is a clueless jackass”, we have him get defensive about the question of Constantine’s bisexuality. Sure, Constantine wasn’t depicted as bisexual from the beginning but his answer is dumb:

We just don’t show him getting in bed with a man in the pilot, but neither did the comics, so I don’t know what the big deal is.

Yeah, because the only to show a character’s sexuality is to jump in bed with someone of the prefered sex, right? It’s not like he could check out a guy from time to time, or make a passing comment about a past lover, or something, right? Dumbass.

Finally, I didn’t know this was a thing! Why didn’t I know this was a thing! Disney’s new Muppets show debuted today! It’s called Disney Drive-On With the Muppets (yes, what a mouthful) and will release two new episodes every Friday from now until “a limited time.” So enjoy it while it lasts! Here’s another video where Pepe the King Prawn was left in charge by Kermit The Frog.

And that it’s for the week. Before I go, I want to wish Happy Birthday to Helen Mirren (26), Wil Wheaton (29), Laurence Fishburne (30), Christopher Nolan (30), J.K. Rowling (31), Harry Potter (31), Sam Mendes (1) and Jason Momoa (1).
