The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Comic-Con hangover!
SUNDAY
Here are the pretty, pretty props of Avengers: Age of Ultron that includes poor Captain America’s shattered shield, as well as a huge Hulkbuster’s fist, and what seems to be a pretty battered Ultron’s Mark I design. All those props make me feel worried for our heroes and, thus, are awesome.
Of course here’s all the spoilery info about the Avengers: Age of Ultron footage… and also Ant-Man, who I hope it catches a break. Poor movie~ Anyway, OMG what I have read about Age of Ultron footage! It’s spoilery but whatever! I have that freaking trailer/footage now. Also, Ultron is a party pooper and ruins an Avengers party. And there are images of said props in action. Man, it looks dark!
Stephen Amell is one enthusiastic fella about Arrow, and he says that while he ain’t sure that he will be part of the eventual Justice League movie, he tells us “You can watch The Justice League on television now.” And yes, many DC characters are now on TV! He also seems sure his character will finally use the Green Arrow name pretty soon. No goatee though!
I really do think we are moving to a spot where we will refer to my character as ‘The Green Arrow’. We are moving to a spot where we will continue to embrace the fundamental classic elements of the character. Because we have that license now. We’re 46 episodes in. People like it. They buy into it. But unless this character is evolving — The Hood to Arrow to The Green Arrow — then people are going to lose interest. So I always want there to be a journey for him. And this year’s journey is really interesting.
Peter Capaldi, fantastic man that he is, tell us there won’t be any flirting between his character and Jenna Coleman’s in Doctor Who. Not that I don’t think he isn’t an attractive silver fox, but that should not be what the Doctor is about!
There’ll be no flirting, that’s for sure. It’s not what this Doctor’s concerned with. It’s quite a fun relationship, but no, I did call and say, ‘I want no Papa-Nicole moments’. I think there was a bit of tension with that at first, but I was absolutely adamant.
MONDAY
Empire Magazine has The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies covers! This time is Bard vs. Smaug! The subscribers get a Smaug one~
Two news reggarding Ant-Man. First, it’s been confirmed that Evangeline Lilly will be playing Hope Pym (and not Hope Van Dyne). And that’s the name of the daughter of Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne in an alternative comicbook universe (who also becomes a villain). Also, we will get Corey Stoll as Darren Cross, a.k.a. Yellowjacket, the antagonist of the film. So, what happened to Janet Van Dyne a.k.a. The Wasp who, just like Hank, should have been a founder Avenger, but it’s not even in Ant-Man (at least nobody has been cast as her)? Yep, she’s getting fridged, if I understood Michael Douglas’ words about his character~
My name is Dr. Henry Pym. I’m an entomologist. I’m also a physicist and I discovered in 1963, a way, a serum to reduce a human being to the size of ant maintaining the strength. Not only that, but I was able to find a way to communicate with the ants. But unfortunately during this process, a tragic personal accident happened with my wife, my daughter, Evangeline, Hope. So I’ve had to pass my powers and strengths onto a mentor.
OMG! Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes has a villain trailer and it looks great (and cute!):
Bring on the Trickster. Bring on the Monster. Bring on the Accuser. Bring on the Villains! Soon you’ll be able to play as some of Marvel’s most formidable foes: Loki from The Avengers, Green Goblin from Spider-Man and Ronan from The Guardians of the Galaxy play sets in Disney Infinity Marvel Super Heroes (2.0 Edition).
So, Quentin Tarantino tells us Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair in theaters next year. That means it will be a longer cut of the two-part martial arts/vengeance epic, that will include a 30 minute anime sequence. Yay!
