The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Buffing our Zygoma~

WEDNESDAY

So, Marvel has sent a cease-and-desist letter to Mike Pecci about his fan-made film The Dead Can’t Be Distracted. While it’s not the first Punisher fanfilm, Thomas Jane made one called Dirty Laundry, I guess this one got Marvel atention because not only is it based on a specific comicbook arc (the one by done Greg Rucka and Marco Checchetto), but the film maker also wanted this to be the first on a series of shors about the character. Well, while the move kinda makes Marvel look like dicks, it is their property and they can send all the cease-and-desist they want. As for now, Pecci has wrote and got possitive feedback by both Rucka and Checchetto, and hopes that the fan interest while make Marvel change its mind about this whole issue.

I want the right people at Marvel to see this film, to rescue our film, and to hopefully be inspired by my love for this character. … Write to Marvel. Tell them that you want to see this film. Tell them you want to see our Punisher on the small screen.

On happier Marvel news, they finally have made a Disney park debut… in Hong Kong. Yep, Hong Kong Disneyland is to have an Iron Man Experience! Dammit, why must they shove my lack of money in my face?

Continuing with the Disney news, we have a sneak peek on Toy Story Of Terror, which will debut on October 16th at 8/7c on ABC.

And now, for something totally awesome and fantastic, SyFy has ordered a new reality called… Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge. OMG, yes! I already love their Face Off and I’m sure I will love love love this! The winner gets $100,000 and a contract working at the famed Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. I’m shivering for how excited I am for this!

Super Clyde pilot is now online! Yep, that series that never was with Rupert Grint and Stephen Fry about “a comic book dude who inherits a boatload of money from a crazy uncle and decides to become something of a superhero, giving help to those in need”. And I saw it and it was lovely and cute and heart-warming and ridiculous and I love it and why can’t it be sold to another network? Or even on Netflix. Dammit! Also, I like Rupert Grint’s American accent.

Rupert Grint ain’t without work though. He’s currently promoting CBGB, and he talked about Alan Rickman, who is also in the movie… and looks like an old homeless Will Ferrell. I feel sorry I had to type that.

I love Alan. He’s one of my favorites, and he was completely transformed. I was surprised when I saw him. He was just completely in that zone, as he was when he was Snape, when he was quite intimidating. And yeah, when I was doing that first scene, it was weird!

Talking about Rickman, he’s surely following the Harry Potter‘s trio’s career and I find that endearing~

I look forward to seeing Daniel’s new film about Ginsberg and I didn’t see Emma’s film, what was it called… “The Bling…?” I haven’t seen that, but no I stay in touch with them. Rupert is rehearsing a play at the moment so he’s going on stage for the first time. Daniel is ever adventurous and Emma’s gone back to finishing her degree at Brown. So they’re a great threesome.

Peter Dinklage will be in a new comedy for Paramount a man who tells people he is a true leprechaun. And apparently will be “R-rated territory but wrapped around an emotional heart”.

Apparently, Harrison Ford has been talking with Ridley Scott about a Blade Runner sequel~

I truly admire Ridley as a man and as a director, and I would be very happy to engage with him again in the further telling of this story.

Kit Harington and Saoirse Ronan may be Mr. and Mrs. Fantastic in the Fantastic Four reboot. That doesn’t totally please me. But Saoirse is way better than Jessica Alba at least. Michael B. Jordan is still the only one mentioned for The Human Torch. I guess Susan and Johnny would be step-siblings?

Turtlenecks are back! Here we have Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hiddleston for Esquire USA and GQ UK respectively and they both rock the turtleneck… although Tom does look like a pimp and Benedict like a serial killer. I have strange tastes. I know that.
