The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Bandersnatch Cummerbund

WEDNESDAY

US President Barack Obama said the following:

“I think same sex couples should be able to get married”

And became the first president to publicly support marriage equality. Hollywood reacted immediatly (and favorably) via Twitter. And fabulous George Takei commented on it too, expressing his gratitude and pride. It all left a huge smile on my face.

Fox News, as usual, acted like an ass.

And the awesomefest in America continued with… ok, not as relevant, but this was something that I was following for days, and I was happy to find it all in one place. You see, the cast and crew of Star Trek 2 hit the town. And it was all documented thanks to Zachary Quinto’s, Simon Pegg’s, and lucky fans’ Twitters. And you know what? They took Benedict Cumberbatch with them to watch a boxing match… at Hooters. And the picture he got taken of him was so manly it deserved photoshop.

America… F*ck yeah!

But his stay in the US didn’t go unnoticed by the local showbiz media. TMZ talks to him when he’s about to grab a cab, and it’s all cool talking about his awesome name and otters… that is until they make a Stephen Hawking joke. Keep it classy, TMZ! And boo at not mentioning Sherlock or Star Trek 2, the actual reasons Benedict Cumberbatch is in America!

He does talk about those and The Hobbit in an interview for the LA Times. Although, the most I got out of it is how good he looks smoking.

And then I saw his newest Jaguar ad. Damn, he’s really got a great voice.

Speaking of great voices, Tom Hiddleston sings a couple of songs, does some impressions, tells a couple of dirty (and dorky) jokes and show how to give an evil smile on the Hoppus on Music interview. Yeah, the quality is sh*tty. Whatever, Hiddles is still awesome.

In totally different news, Kick-Ass 2 will apparently happen, and that makes me happy! It will, of course, be based on the comic of the same name, plus the Hit-Girl spin-off, which will hit the stores in June. Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass), Chloe Moretz (Hit-Girl) and Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Red Mist) will come back, I expect. Sad that there will be no Big Daddy (and no Nicholas Cage), though.

This was the last time I actually liked Nicholas Cage.
