The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Avengers, Avengers everywhere

FRIDAY

So watched the video of London Press Conference for The Avengers… and it was cool and all until some idiot reporter asked a spoilery question. WTF, dude? See if you get invited to another Press Conference, moron!

Also, the first reviews for Avengers are here, and while I haven’t read them because I don’t wanna spoil myself, I just checked to see how “the critics” like it. A lot, apparently.

Meanwhile, Tom Hiddleston continues being a flawless human being, and wrote an article for The Guardian titled Superheroes Movies like Avengers Assemble Should Not Be Scorned, about the epicness of superhero movies and how they shouldn’t be looked down upon.

“There’s not a soul on this earth who hasn’t wanted to ‘Hulk smash’ something in their lives.”

Damn right, good sir, damn right!

While still under Avenger high, I learnt some shocking news. Tyra Banks fired Nigel Barker, J. Alexander and Jay Manuel from ANTM… and I was WHUT? Sure, I haven’t seen that show in ages, but those three where a constant, and at least the “two Jays” were an endless fountain of amusement, dammit.

OMG, I read that ANTM thing. I haven’t watched that show since……………………… since… I can’t remember since when, but probably since Season 7 or 8. I can’t imagine the show without Jay and Ms. Jay. O_O

Sorry… I’m not a very good geek girl xD

@amy, to be perfectly sincere, I learnt about it thanks to a twitter conversation between Mark Gatiss (co-creator of Sherlock) and Amanda Abbington (partner of Martin Freeman/Watson) XD

[…] I’m not afraid to show how geeky I am, and as such I was nervous that The Avengers wasn’t going to live up to my expectations. That somehow Whedon wouldn’t be enough as a movie director, as much as how geek-talented he already is. That the cast may fail to get the chemistry going, even though they seemed to get along so well. That maybe all the people who already saw it and waxed poetic about it, were overestimating it. Man, I am so glad to say that all my fears were unwarranted. […]
