The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: ABC brings the ladies to my small screen

MONDAY

Let’s start with Ben Affleck finally talking about Batman! Gotta say, dude sure handled the fan reactions like a champ!

They said just don’t use the Internet for a couple of days…. I handle shit. I’m very tough. I saw the announcement, I look down on the first comment…the first one just goes, ‘Nooooooooo!’

Here’s the whole thing on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon:

Hugh Jackman endorses X-Men: Days of Future Past and Bryan Singer. Never seen a dude so enthusiastic about his character and franchise, besides Tom Hiddleston.

I think some people are saying, “Ah, this just sounds like an excuse to get all these actors together and make an Avengers-style movie,” but the truth is that it’s a great script and Bryan is very ambitious to make the best movie of them all. He’s got the biggest cast, the biggest budget, and he started it all, so it’s his legacy. He’s a fan of time-travel movies, and the detail that’s gone into it is incredible. I’m quietly confident that it will be the biggest and the best of them all.

There’s gonna be Agent Coulson Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ID badgets for the lucky bastards that attend the NYCC (and have $50)!

Rumor has it that the first Captain America: The Winter Soldier trailer will be attached to Thor: The Dark World screenings. Of course we might see teasers before that!

Benedict Cumberbatch finally starts filming The Imitation Game where he plays Alan Turing. Boy sure is bussy! Keira Knightley is also there as Turing’s close friend and fellow code-breaker Joan Clarke, and Mark Strong who I don’t what he plays but I’m sure he’ll be an antagonist of some sort because he’s Mark Strong.

Insidious: Chapter 2 didn’t the best reviews but considering it was made on $5 million and has made over$50 million already, Insidious: Chapter 3 is a now brainer. It’s confirmed that Leigh Whannell is also writing this one. James Wan is not making horror movies now so it’s probable we’ll get another director. James Wan himself said on twitter he won’t be away from horror forever though. And he will want to do a slasher or zombie movie.

Misfits The Movie will happen! You know, Misfits, the British TV show about a a group of teen delinquents doing community service who get super powers after a weird storm. So, considering this show will start its final series this year, I guess the movie will be after that. Oh well, I’m sure I’ll check it out!

Talking about TV shows creating related stuff, The Walking Dead is going to have a spin-off! Yup, in the same zombie-riddled world but with new characters and stuff. Executive producers and comicbook creator Robert Kirkman sure is very enthusiastic about it!

The opportunity to make a show that isn’t tethered by the events of the comic book, and is truly a blank page, has set my creativity racing.

On also surprising TV news, Iggy Pop will be in Once Upon a Time in Wonderland voicing The Caterpillar! Roger Daltrey, who played the part briefly in Once Upon a Time, wasn’t available so they had to recast. Considering John Lithgow will voice the White Rabbit and Keith David will do the same to the Cheshire Cat, I may have to watch this show for the voice actors alone.

Let’s finish the day with some eye-candy. Here are some of the Arrow cast shirtless. This is how good promo is done.
