The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: A series of fortunate news!

THURSDAY

The official Gotham Facebook and YouTube accounts have launched a fictional campaign for Oswald Cobblepot a.k.a. Penguin, who’s running for mayor, and it kinda (totally) reminds us of Trump’s campaign and that’s kinda (totally) hilarious:

Things were getting ready for the New York Comic Con, and it started with showing us the things fans could get by being there. Like an upcoming variant cover for an Marvel Premiere #15 that recounts the origins of Iron Fist, and a new poster hyping the hero’s solo series.

There was also the release of NYCC teaser of War for the Planet of the Apes, where Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. The film premieres on July 14, 2017. And damn, Caesar has been working on his diction!

In Disney news, uncanny valley designs asides, it seems characterizations won’t be a problem in the live-action Beauty and the Beast. At least, if I am to believe what Luke Evans had to say specificallyabout his character Gaston!

It was really fun to play this character, because it’s such a great arc, such a great like arc. He starts as a kind of lovable rogue – says all these self-absorbed egocentric phrases and has his crazy sidekick. And then once he starts to realize he’s not going to get his own way, the facade starts to crack, and there’s a monster appears, and he ends up being quite the villain.

And ‘lo and behold! The Enchanted sequel is finally on its way, for a summer 2017 premiere. Damn, that’s 10 years later! I’m old! Anywya, Adam Shankman (Hairspray) might direct, and it makes sense. So what’s it about? According to some sources:

Disenchanted is set 10 years after the first movie, with Giselle finding herself questioning her happily-ever-after life and accidentally triggering events that make everyone’s lives turn upside down in both the real world and in the animated kingdom of Andalasia. David Stem and David Weiss wrote the script. But didn’t she stayed with Patrick Dempsey in New York, while Idina Menzel and James Marsden stayed in Andalasia?

Here’s the full track list for the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them original motion picture soundtrack! It may have some spoilers~

Batwoman will get a new comicbook series!  In February we get a Rebirth-themed one-shot, and Batwoman No. 1 will follow in March. Not only that, but Marguerite Bennett (who will write the series), will pen a two-issue “Batwoman Begins” story arc in Detective Comics with James Tynion IV, in January.
