The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: A-Force to be reckoned with!

TUESDAY

Here are the first two minutes of The Walking Dead Season 5 mid-season premiere!

Superman gets a makeover! Or rather Brandon Routh goes full armor as the Atom in The CW’s Arrow~ Yep, that’s Ray Palmer’s exosuit and will be seen in action for the first time on February 25 in the episode titled “Nanda Parbat”. Seems people in The CW like Brandon in his new superhero identity since there are talks of giving him a spin-off. We will see, specially if it goes right with the public.

Ryan Reynolds said that the reason the Deadpool movie is getting made is “100 percent” thanks to the leaked test footage. He still ain’t sure who leaked it, but he seems happy about it! Also, apparently there wasn’t even a script for Green Lantern when he was autioning for the role, and he said that’s common practice in superhero movies. Unlike Deadpool where they have had the script for like 3 years before finally deciding to do it now. And only because the leasked test footage reaction was so damn positive.

As with all Marvel movies, Avengers: Age of Ultron has got a comicbook prequel. In this one we see Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch’s MCU backstory. The one-shot digital comic, Avengers: Age of Ultron Prelude – This Scepter’d Isle, follows what happened to Loki’s scepter after the end of the first Avengers movie and how it ended in the hands of Baron Von Strucker in the credits scene of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. In there it is revealed that Strucker, on behalf of Hydra, used the scepter on test subjects in the fictional European city of Sokovia to “unlock” any potential powers. Guess which two twins are the test subjects that get their powers unlocked~

Remember how Benedict Cumberbatch was going to star in The Lost City of Z as British explorer Col. Percival Fawcett, who disappeared in 1925 while searching for a mysterious city in the Amazon? Yep, he’s not anymore because Benny Batch will be bussy with Marvel playing Doctor Strange. Charlie Hunnam has been brought as replacement and wow… Charlie and Benedict look nothing alike!

WEDNESDAY

Habemus the first trailer of Daredevil! And it’s bleak yo! Love the atmosphere! Yep, get ready for all the 10 episodes on April 10th on Netflix!

Daredevil showrunner Steven S. DeKnight talked about the trailer, specially about how religion plays a part in Matt Murdocks/Daredevil’s live, about how brutal the show will be, Kingpin’s role in the series, supporting cast and of course, the costume!

We didn’t want to start him in the [red] suit. We wanted the early days of him figuring out what he was doing and making mistakes and getting the crap beat out of him on a regular basis. His suit, which we call his vigilante outfit, in the beginning – we tried practically everything, design-wise. We experimented with a lot of different head pieces. One version was a ski mask with the eyes sewn shut. We tried everything until we found something that just felt right. And also, really going back to that Man Without Fear, I can’t say where his costume ends up, where it goes, but there is definitely an evolution.

It’s been confirmed, Stormtroopers ain’t clones. Yep, we can get as many women and people of colors as stormtroopers as we damn want. It was revealed in the first official Star Wars novel to be published since Disney’s rejection of the Expanded Universe. Just so you know. Besides it’s not like we didn’t know there was a Imperial Academy in A New Hope, but some fans where whining about John Boyega as a stromtrooper in the trailer~ Anyway, a leaked page of the book shows a female stormtrooper so yay!

Vanity Fair had a Hollywood special centred on the “British Invasion”. That is, many of my faves from The Isle were in pretty photoshoots and in a short film told in three parts: “Preparing For War,” “Coming To America,” and “Victory Is Assured“!
