Julyssa’s Jukebox

Hello YAMmies! Let me welcome you to my new segment. Julyssa’s Jukebox will be a place in where I (Julyssa) will share some of the music that I have been listening to each week. Everything from new songs to some older ones. This is my playlist for the week.

1. Les Domaines Feat. Sodad & The Light – NINE2FIVE

First off, I want to start with a song that has been stuck in my head for a good reason. My friends came to visit me from the U.S. When they were heading back to the airport, their taxi driver was really kind and charming. He told them about his music, my friend told him to contact me and bam! that is how I found out about Sodad.

The funny thing is that neither me nor my friends are that big fans of house music, but something about this song makes us bob our heads along. Plus, we think Sodad is a sweetheart so that makes the song even better.

2. TaeTiSeo – Twinkle

Dammit SME and their music, they always become earworms with me. I like this song so much I keep listening to it several times a day. Makes me want to dance while I am walking down the street. I used to be that way with another SNSD earworm — Gee.

Worst part is that I really, really love the video. I am such an addict when it comes to cute…

3. Michael Kiwanuka – I’ll Get Along

This artist came out of nowhere and hit me in the gut. I am still a little shocked over what happened but it’s not negative.

I am still very high from his Stockholm show. I think I am about to get a little choked up thinking about it. This has something to do with next weeks Editor’s Chat — me and Amy chatted about instant loves — those entertainment things that make you fall head over heels in an instant. Well, Michael Kiwanuka blew me away. I can’t stop listening to his album and my heart burns thinking about it.

4.  J.Y. Park – You’re the One (너 뿐이야)

I love J.Y.Park, I often call him “the ahjusshii of Kpop”. I mostly adore him for being the CEO of JYP Entertainment and the producer of such great tracks as 2PM’s Again and Again as well as The Wondergirls’ Tell Me.

This song has that soul and funk that makes you want to jam as well as *cough*…. you get my meaning. Sure, J.Y.P. shouldn’t be allowed to dress himself, but he for sure knows how to make great music.

5. Elliphant Feat. Adam Kanyama – Tekkno Scene

Aaaaahhhh! I think Sweden is off to one heck of a summer if the clubs are going to be playing Elliphant’s music. Not only her, but acts such as Marcus Price & Carli are sure to bring heat to the dancefloor.

I am going to be blasting this song at every party I attend this summer. You people have been warned!

———————————————

Well, that is it for my Jukebox for this week. The playlist for next week is already forming and it’s a doozy! With summer comes some great tracks that are too great to ignore. I shall see how I find the time to listen to it all.

Until next weeks then, duckies! This is your dear YAM editor signing out, peace!

I dunno if Twinkle is at the level of GEE crack. I’ve listened to it a couple of times since I listened to the album, but I can’t remember anything about the song, even though it’s probably the highlight of the album. LOL This was better than SNSD’s The Boys release though.

And I can’t never get accustomed to JYP. I think, I dunno what is it about his voice… maybe the pitch? Anyway, the video was kinda interesting… in a funny way. I liked the POV shot hahaha, very good use of POV. I liked his song with Ga In better… it had an unexpected ending for me. LOL

      @amy,

Well, technically Twinkle is not near Gee but as way of earworms go… it’s up there.

JYP has a very special voice, very high and pitchy. But damn do I love his songs. Yes, teh GaIn song is really good. So sad I missed to share it here when it came out :P
