Ifi Ude – My Baby Gone

Again, I’m constantly amazed by the type of music I find when I least expect it. This time it comes from Poland by way of Nigeria. Ifi Ude has a different sort of voice, a voice that forces you to take notice. The striking video for My Baby Gone further intensifies the stark contrast in style and concept from any other artist.

Because I don’t speak Polish and that’s pretty much what the description is in, I had to parse what I believed to be the relevant information. What I can tell you, however, is that there are very few videos I’ve seen that are as gorgeous as this.

As unexpected as my path was to loving all things weird, more unexpected is my ability to get attention for writing about the stuff.

Her sound reminds me a lot of Chara [1], especially the beginning and the musicality reminiscent of Sa Dingding [1]. All mixed together. xD

@amy, I know! I just love her sound. I’ll obviously have to check out Chara now… HaHa.

And thanks for information. Cuz, yeah, I had no idea what to do with that. I wrote this at work and because of our hideously outdated software and restrictions, you can imagine actually getting any further than what I had was kinda NOT going to happen… HaHa.
