How Dixie Chicks is Saving me from Kpop
Well, not really. Kpop’s still on my mind.
But I so love the Dixie Chicks.
YouTube is screwing me up by overflowing my subscriptions. Luckily, I still ended up finding out that the Dixie Chicks… well, they’re not really back, but they’re releasing their 2006 vh1 Storytellers performance on DVD/Bluray. I’m beyond happy.
This clip of them performing So Hard was on my YT homepage — after not being able to watch it a few hours ago because it was region restricted.
And this. Of course. Not Ready to Make Nice. Not the finest Dixie Chicks song in their catalog, but it’s pretty great to listen to Natalie being all mad and singing the lines, “I made my bed and slept like a baby with no regrets and I don’t mind saying it’s a sad-sad story when a mother would teach her own daughter that she oughta hate a perfect stranger. And how in the world can the words that I said send somebody so over the edge that they write me a letter saying that I’d better shut up and sing or my life will be over.”
Of course, I’m exaggerating.
I love both Kpop and country music. I just wished more people did.
