How Dixie Chicks is Saving me from Kpop

Well, not really. Kpop’s still on my mind.

But I so love the Dixie Chicks.

YouTube is screwing me up by overflowing my subscriptions. Luckily, I still ended up finding out that the Dixie Chicks… well, they’re not really back, but they’re releasing their 2006 vh1 Storytellers performance on DVD/Bluray. I’m beyond happy.

This clip of them performing So Hard was on my YT homepage — after not being able to watch it a few hours ago because it was region restricted.

And this. Of course. Not Ready to Make Nice. Not the finest Dixie Chicks song in their catalog, but it’s pretty great to listen to Natalie being all mad and singing the lines, “I made my bed and slept like a baby with no regrets and I don’t mind saying it’s a sad-sad story when a mother would teach her own daughter that she oughta hate a perfect stranger. And how in the world can the words that I said send somebody so over the edge that they write me a letter saying that I’d better shut up and sing or my life will be over.

Of course, I’m exaggerating.

I love both Kpop and country music. I just wished more people did.

I don’t listen much of Dixie Chicks, but I did actually liked that documentary about them dealing with the political controversy.

@Rodrigo, I’m getting my hands on this bluray somehow. Since they’re never going to come down here… and I’m never going to be chasing after them.

I probably should have told you for our upcoming post, that I missed DC in Vancouver. First, because I thought $60 CDN was expensive, and I didn’t want to fight for tickets (I lived near a Ticketmaster, and there was a queue the morning of the ticket sale)… and then I left Canada before the concert ever happened, so I would have missed them anyway. T_T

@Rodrigo, btw – country music makes me cry hahahaha. Two songs in specific… Dixie Chick’s version of Travellin’ Soldier, and Brad Paisley’s When I Get Where I’m Going with Dolly Parton. xD

And after 2005, I get emotional with DC’s Silent House.

Did you get your Bluray yet? How was your thing with Amazon?

    • amy says:

@ghost, my Dixie Chicks and Adele blurays aren’t here yet. I hope I get them before Xmas though.

Amazon was fine, I just hate UPS. I always avoid them at all cost – I just told them that I will be more careful in not making weird order combinations so they don’t have one of these mix-ups again.
